Simone Biles just wanted a free vacation.
When the going gets tough and your team needs you… quit. That’s the message she sent. If you have mental issues, I highly doubt they just showed up. She should have never taken a roster spot from someone who worked their whole life to be there, what a waste. I wish her no ill will though, she is still a good person who has been through a lot, but that doesn’t excuse this action.
Oh sorry random lowbie alt from Classic here’s some people who won gold medals in gymnastics that are over Simone Biles’ age. One woman even did it for the third time at age 29 while pregnant.
My point though, was that one of the greatest athletes in the world, with a history of shattering records, might just not be done cause she’s the ripe old age of 24.
I’ll cheer for them for as long as they stand for the flag. Lose with dignity but stand for the American flag.

I disagree. My girlfriend is Colombian and my son is half Korean. When I reference them I don’t say ‘my girlfriend the Colombian,’ so when I see people’s races being mentioned when ‘whatever her name is, an American Olympian’ perfectly illustrates who she is, then I know her race being brought up is being done to garner a particular twist on a subject.
Race becomes wholly unimportant when you don’t see people as a color, but instead as just another person.
She looks done at 24 so chances of her winning at 28 seem slim especially when she has confessed that as she has got older she is feeling more afraid .

Republicans don’t like Simone Bile because of her race and they will take any reason to trash her just cause they don’t like her race.
Meanwhile in China if they only get Silver they have reasons to be worried for their safety.

Everyone knows her name because she’s widely considered one of if not the greatest gymnast of all time, and has received non-stop coverage as the singular face of the American Olympic team in the long run-up to Tokyo, You only have to be minimally interested in the Olympics to have been inundated with her name, her accomplishments, and to know that she was favored to lead the U.S. team to another record performance.
Her withdrawal from multiple events has generated massive, inundating coverage.
She’s not some random Olympian no one outside their social circle or followers of their specific sport knows of. She’s globally famous and inspirational, and has changed the sport.
And if you don’t think very high-profile athletes in the Olympics and elsewhere aren’t savaged by some for perceived failures you’re simply ignorant.
