linking to another thread about Invoke Xuen (monk spell) consistently causing these same type of crashes.
This is interesting as most of the crashes has come when playing monk⊠but i also did get this on warlock earlier in the day so hmm
Sounds like a driver crash or multiple of them. By default, AMD drivers are set to try to autorecover from them. You need to check the logs in the event viewer(probably under the application or system sections) and see if youâre getting any red flags there.
It will probably show up as a TDR crash or some AMD flavoured crash. Also, post a DXDIAG
I tested it on my monk and as soon as Xuen fades my game will lock up.
I happen to play Windwalker monk as my main when I noticed the freezing. I will try out different classes to see if it also happens
Update: Can confirm it happens on Brewmaster too when Invoke Niuzo, the Black Ox despawns
Same here, Whenever Xuen despawns (either proc Xuen or casted) the game locks up for anywhere between 5 and 20 seconds. Sometimes completely closing wow. I can alt tab freely, and still do everything else on my computer while wow is frozen. All drivers are updated to their latest versions. These issues were also happening on the 10.1 PTR.
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600x
GPU: Radeon RX 6900 XT
My game locks up in solo shuffle only when there is a monk. Like others have noticed, its when they pop Xuen, and sometimes fist of fury.
How is blizz continually this inept when it comes to patch bugs? Fix this crap.
This has happened to me twice on the same rare: Kobrak - the rare snake in the cavern that tunnels. Its tunneling is possibly locking up my pc and causing the driver issues. Or, as you posted, it could be a wider AMD/10.1 patch issue.
a raider of ours was having this issue and moved to dx11 and disabled windows defender and is no longer crashing on raz. He was locking up EVERY pull. Hope this helps someone
I switched to DirectX 11 and the stupid tiger didnât freeze my game when it disappeared this time.
I am having this same issue as well (AMD 6900XT Driver ver. 23.4.3). I have done a repair of the game files and have had all my addons disabled and also deleted WTF folder. I am trying now with Direct X set to 11 instead of 12 and that seems to be working for now but canât confirm 100% yet. If anyone else can try this and post their findings.
Same here amd driver crashing during certain spell effects especially bad when I play my mage. The dx11 workaround seems to be working for now.
The issue can be repeated on Xuen and when mobs in Zaralek use a âsubmergeâ animation, as well.
Submerge happened to me too.
Add me to the list⊠AMD 6700XT with what looks like gfx crashes multiple times in a raid. there were a few monks in there.
Iâm wondering if the problems detailed here are in any way related to this thread, Constant Crashing - ERROR#132 (0x85100084) at all?
In the other thread, we all specifically get an error 132. I didnât see anyone here describe what crash or error code they get. Does it just CTD, or do you get a specific error, or do you get error 132, in particular?
Iâm getting constant 132, and it was happening just before 10.1 on Tuesday. Since maybe Wednesday or Thursday of last week. I donât have an AMD card though, am running an Nvidia 3080, with the latest available drivers. These may not be related, but I wonder if thereâs the possibility of it?
Same exact rare has crashed on 2 different toons, so it certainly seems certain graphical aspects are causing issues. I have a Radeon as well.
Another similar crash happens when interacting with some of the dig items that are near the Dig NPC.
Has anyone else had trouble doing nal ksâkol reliquary mini game?
In addition to having 6700XT and having freeze issues with monks, trying to open the treasure(it phases into a minigame) also causes the game to freeze.
Same issue. Xuen despawn, dream projection, submerge all 100% repeatable. No addons, rx 6750 xt, latest drivers.
Can confirm that switching to direct x 11 seemed to do the trick for me.
