I see many players complaining about the event, but to me, all I see is:
A fun event with plenty of easy rewards that sent my dopamine levels through the roof! In two days, I managed to get all the mounts and transmogs I wanted, plus some extra coins for the trading post.
The best part is that you don’t need to be good to get the rewards since you can queue as many times as you want.
The only slightly negative point, in my opinion, is that you might be unlucky enough to run into an annoying player whose sole purpose is to chase and disrupt your progress. Even if there are several chests or rares nearby, they don’t care—they just want to kill you.
I wonder if they’ll get bored and leave the mode at some point. I’m running into a lot more sweaty PvPers this time around who are only in Plunderstorm to make life harder for other players, killing players within a minute or two of starting and not even bothering to pick up plunder. All they see is easy target PvEers to torment and they love it.
I don’t see the point in doing content that doesn’t have rewards. Rewards are what motivate me to participate and make the effort enjoyable. In the case of Plunderstorm, the rewards are easy and satisfying, which only enhances my experience with the event.
it is a stressful event for most wow players that do not enjoy pvp.
Plunderstorm is a event for the most toxic type of players that love to attack anyone and everyone as soon as the match starts and most people do not find absolutely any fun on this for obvious reasons.
there is no reward if you get killed right off without at least plundering something and most people’s response to this is “haha get good” and i am just using a mild example because some can get really really toxic.
It’s more that plunder doesn’t give that much XP and once you’ve bought everything it has no more use. Usually after a kill I’m mostly wary of hanging around the same place because I’m weak, have to heal, and someone nearby just saw me fighting and is likely on their way to see if they can get an engagemet out of me.
Plunder just isn’t worth the risk a lot of the time.
The key to staying hidden is honestly not to use your abilities. I just run around and hit things with my sword and gun. I can quietly sneak around the map this way.
The whole “PLUNDERSTORM BURNED MY CROPS” posts are outrageous, the mode is surprisingly well made. No real crashes, game breaking bugs, etc.
Funniest complaint i’ve seen are posts about being killed before they complete their bonus objective and people not relenting. It’s PvP, the opposing side has no obligation to show mercy.
I’ve already bought everything from the store and i’ve gotten the 250K Plunder achievement title so i’m done with the mode. My time wasn’t terrible with it, i’m just 100% done.
Not getting the 1 Million Plunder achievement, hell naw.
