I’ve tried to go horde a few times and it always feels wrong, plus I really hate Sylvanas and everything she’s in. Something about her rubs me the wrong way.

Id love to play my Dark Iron pally with Horde friends. At this point in the story our characters should be telling the world leaders whats going to happen. Or we should go 100% merc mode with no ties to the petty factions allowing us to group together!

If you asked me I would say I play Horde, but I also have Alliance alts.
I don’t hate either side, but when I first started leveling Alliance I kept thinking to myself how hard it was to find things in cities, zones, quests.
You get so used to one side, going to the other can be quite jarring.

Yeah, I rerolled my progression toons to Horde years ago but still don’t really like it here. Not a fan of the vibe or default architecture and dislike a few of the races. My favorite alts to play are all Alliance, they just don’t push content.

Being forced to play a character you don’t want to be on, just for PVE and/or PVP content, is obnoxious.

One thing I’ve realized over the years, having played on both factions, is that Alliance players bash on the Horde, and Horde players, far more than Horde players bash on the Alliance.
Like there’s some genuinely worrying amounts of bothered going on that doesn’t really seem appropriate to a video game. It mirrors all kinds of far less comfortable and far more real allegories in the real world.

I don’t actively hate the Horde, but I could never main it.
I dislike the typical aesthetic associated with Horde settlements. I dislike a good half of the Horde races. I dislike the art and story direction their questing zones tend to take. Just… not my thing.
I can only do it as a temporary alt. I can pick one of the few races I can stand. But I still don’t like the locations, quests, the other characters around me, etc.

I see the opposite. Horde players tend to be WAY more gung-ho about the whole faction pride thing, whereas Alliance players are annoyed that Blizzard isn’t doing anything about the endgame/competitive faction balance issues, but don’t have anything in particular against Horde players themselves.

sounds like me with alliance. got my allie alts ofc but it feels so awful and wrong to be over there…
the quests always have some weird “lets do this because its the right thing to do to make this a better world” vibe to it. i’m uncomfortable and keep checking my flagged status the entire time.

Please accept the distinction between faction pride and faction hate. There’s plenty of the For the Horde… at least when people bother to care about their faction at all going on.
But there’s a lot less, “the Alliance are scum, and by extension so are the players,” equivalent.
If it comes up at all, it’s when someone starts going off about lore, and even then it doesn’t tend to descend into attaching the ethics of NPCs to human players.

Or because you are no longer blue?
I keep one max level horde character in case there’s a different story like in BfA, but I really can’t stand the horde. The only city I like is Silvermoon but there’s no reason to go there, and their only race I like is Blood Elves. The rest are so off putting I could never play them.
