The issue i have with TBC, is that the whole of azeroth is barren and everyone ends up living in those 5 TBC zones for the most part.
Yes. Especially with the new “shard/layering” system in the anniversary servers. It’s terrible
I feel like the community is gaslighting me. During TBC Classic everyone and their dog complained about how bad it was and how it’s Wotlk but worse
Now people are swearing TBC is incredible wasn’t the disaster it was
Next year people are going to be calling the TBC servers Wrath Waiting Room as the population quickly disappears in P1 TBC yet again
No you’re right. I remember the same exact thing. It’s probably a small echo chamber in the forums here that only thinks positively about TBC. But I specifically remember “TBC Classic hype” dying off very fast when it came out, and the end periods before Wrath were DEAD.
Everyone gassed up TBC classic before it came out like it would be the best of the best, and it fell completely flat from everything I remember. WotLK classic actually held a very strong playerbase for 90% of it from what I can recall.
Runes that don’t mean anything? Locks are a well rounded class compared to Era. Speak for yourself. I play SoD for the lock. And enjoy the robust play very much.
As each iteration became the “main game”, the previous player base died off. if you compare the Classic Vanilla pre-beta forums the player base opinions are night day compared to TBC prelaunch.
Another idea could be, +1 active skill rank like in Path of Exile. Might be a little too OP though.
You might think you want to play fresh with no layering, but I assure you… it would be a terrible experience.
These grand delusions of a the perfect Classic+ project sound lovely but that’s all they are.
What you have to understand is, even if they did begin development of Classic+, it would be years before we had a playable concept. We’re talking about an entirely new video game.
Blizzard is a company and don’t make their profits in the long term, shareholders and players both want something tangible now, otherwise players will quit and never return.
I’m 100% sure I want to play classic with no layering
I think they could just go ahead and redo all the runes. People would complain but also play. Why not? Could be fun.
Thats just not going to happen. Lets be realistic.
they need to just add tbc and wotlk to sod but scaled down to lvl 60 with no flying mounts and have the game be more horizontal add tons of more runes opening up even more playstyles for classes. have a crazy variety of different things to go for with an overwhelming amount of content
I def dont favor flying mounts. Im all for continuing SoD. I hope the Devs do.
yeah outlands scaled to 60 with no flying mounts pre illidan during a time when magtheridon was the ruler of the outlands
the dark portal should stay blue for sod
I know, I stated what I think should be done with SoD.
I know what they will do, though; the path of most profitable. Which will be to release TBC, Wrath, Cata, MoP, etc,etc but with the “SoD twist”, which even then, will just be tweaks to encounters (lol Deadmines raid??), tweaks to abilities (since we pretty much will have all the abilities that are added), and new crafting recipes.
Meanwhile, they’ll be tasked with re-releasing an expansion (probably be WoD at that point) and probably a new iteration of Hardcore (this time you can’t trade…but all crafted items are BoA; SELF-MADE!!). And/Or a “Classic Reforging of the Reforged” (now with Retail graphics!).
…welcome to the death throes of a company trying not to be dissolved after a buyout/merger.
Yep. Only happens in the Private Server scene…
I think TBC SoD is a great idea. I like retail and Cata Classic, but SoD is the best right now. I played Vanilla/Original, not interested in that pain again.
I would love to be a Human Hunter Sod Devs!
Or Worgen, somehow.
Somebody get this retail kid outta here lol
if they proved they could do it in SoD right now I would, but after experiencing it first hand… hell no
