Am I the only one getting annoyed by the FFXIV fans?

Because it is fake. As I said this existed in the same way when FFXIV had low sub numbers, it exists during off-peak hours, it never deviates or grows beyond that number even during peak times. It’s clearly not an actual queue but more a login server thing. As I said, FF14 threads about this very thing have been made too.

Wrong again. But you’re clearly set on you being right so go ahead and believe whatever you want.

I don’t like people actively trying to get people to leave the game a.k.a the shills and the white knights and I don’t like people actively trying to get people to quit WoW for FF 14 either.

That’s because I am right, I played FFXIV for years m8. I have played long enough to know these things.

Well i’m glad you’re right for once too, then, because that’s absolutely right. Good of you to notice.

You sound like a Q-Anon guy right now.

The election was stolen!

There are no login times!

Meanwhile Biden is President, and I have a queue everytime I get home.

It’s nothing like that, it’s a simple matter that even FF14 fans have taken notice of and like I said ocasionally pops up with threads in their forums.

Also I don’t care about who is your president, i’m not an American, so your little attempt to cause an upset there with that nonsense is a failure.

Ngl the FFXIV fanbase is weird, people get really pissy if you ask simple questions how to do something. Questions get answered with a go play the game and go figure it out yourself, like dude if I could figure it out I wouldnt ask the question.

Also rotation guides are terrible, I need to see pictures of the buttons I need to press not the name of the abbility because then I still spend 5min looking through all my spells. Also rotations yeah this and this is the heart and fun of the class and then the rotation they suggest doesnt even include these spells. Im I just to face slam my head on my keyboard?

You may as well if its dungeons you’re doing, those are always the same to the last detail. Run down the hallway, pull 1-3 mob groups depending on if your tank is able to push more than one button or not and fight boss. You could slam your head on the keyboard for those and not fail.

Not to mention the snarky “wow refugee” remarks. I play both and enjoy both Im not fleeing from anything because I’ll still be leveling in BCC this weekend with friends.

Actually, I can believe it no matter what time of day I am at even according to server time the que is the same. Blizzard has similar things with their server pops that are usually deceptive as well. So I can believe it.

Exactly right, the fact that it never deviates is one of the things I mentioned. This is why even the FF14 threads think it’s fake and is more about some login server process, possibly for stability.

I had a six month sub that I cancelled back in February. Unfortunately, I hadn’t realized it was so close to automatically renewing until it was too late. I haven’t actually played on this character since. :man_shrugging:

I don’t really get annoyed at anything on the forums because, unlike an entire wealth of people that post on here, I actually know how to scroll past a thread if I’m not interested in the topic.

Crazy, I know.

They’re different games, for different player types. What we are seeing is some players opting for one or the other game preferentially, and given that WoW has historically had more players, this will consist of some people who played WoW opting to play 14. That makes sense – they likely would have always been more suited to 14 anyway, because WoW is a different game, with an almost entirely different design from 14.

Blizzard isn’t going to “remedy right now” anything that is causing people to leave for 14. If anything, WoW will be a better, more focused game when it doesn’t have to worry about the kinds of players who are more suited to 14’s design, world, and style of game, because then it can focus on being the kind of game that Blizzard is good at designing and that WoW is good at being.

Far from it!

I would argue they are mostly the same game for the same audience. I think the only difference between the game is one company wants to do what their players like and want, the other designs the games to solve problems with how the players play rather than what they like or want. So in that sense yes very different games.

FFXIV will restrict flying but not in an obnoxious way, and still allow players to gain use out of the game function. WOW sees flying as a problem that needs to be solved, so they restrict it by not allowing it, then when its added you can only use it when you no longer really need it after a long and painful time gated system is completed.

You are still playing the same general end game, and functionally its roughly the same game. Its basically the same players too just theres a totally different vibe over there.

14 is a story-driven game in a Japanese-aesthetic setting which is “cute” and “clean” and “ordered” in a way that is native to that type of design, with combat that is slower and clunkier, and a much slower pace of advancement. It’s a very well put together game if that is what you like.

I am a solo player, not an endgame player. I am in the core player demographic for that game. Yet, I have tried to play it several times – first in 2010, then when ARR came along a few years later, then again since then, and then again in 2020. It has never managed to hook me because I do not care for the story, the pacing, the setting, the aesthetic, the races (cat girls and playboy bunnies aesthetic), the cutesy music. I also dislike the on rails mandatory story (and I am not a spacebar player in games … but 14 is way, way beyond that). I also dislike that the game strongly discourages alts in its design, precisely because of its on rails approach and its slow pacing … and I don’t find the ability to multiclass to be a replacement of any kind for actually different characters.

So I am in the core demographic for that game, not for WoW, but I still prefer WoW, even though WoW, is made for a certain kind of player that is generally not me, because of other design decisions Square made for its game that do not suit me.

These are simply different games for different kinds of players, in my view. Otherwise, I should have loved FF, and I have never been able to play it for more than a few weeks at a stretch. Different games for different players.
