If they make dark rangers a thing they can give horde NE appearances, or they can also roll it into nightborne. We will have to see.
So… You’re suggesting the NIght Elves might join the Horde that burned down their tree? Because…
Horde has Nightborne though…
and there really isn’t any desire for Night Elves on the Horde?
People wanted to play High Elves because High Elves existed.
Night Elves on Horde doesn’t make any sense.
and if there was, for some reason, a demand for such a thing it makes more sense just to expand Nightborne customization.
Indeed, “high elves” weren’t added to Alliance.
But this does allow people to roleplay with more immersion, which isn’t a bad thing.
no. im not saying that. just because one race leaves the alliance doesn’t mean that they join the horde. that’s why they would be a neutral race like pandaren. while pandarens in orgrimmar and stormwind have their allegiances the main race of pandaren and pandaria as a country has no affiliation with horde or alliance. im saying that would be the case with nelves and belves.
Disglain!!!
Hi Callis. <3
How are you? Pleased with this new addition?
well they couldn’t just make belves neutral either and call it a day the horde would just lose a race and get nothing out of it. need to have some trade off.
Pandaren aren’t neutral and the neutral pandaren are unplayable.
There is a faction of Pandaren in the Horde and a faction of Pandaren in the Alliance.
There is a faction of Night Elves that joined the Horde. They’re called Nightborne. =P
Yeah. More hair colors and Paladins would be nice.
And I don’t think it’s the lore-hole people are making it out to be.
High Elves are in the Alliance… so if you see a High Elf running around in the alliance… then?
It would bother me if there weren’t other races in the same boat. But… Wildhammer Dwarves and the different troll species also aren’t getting extra content even though they’re becoming playable… Soooo.
Ah my friend, you haven’t been looking at the forums for long have you? There has been threads saying NE should have went to horde due to proxy and how “Savage” they where in WC3.
Depends, some ppls immersion can be easily broken via the void elf racials. But if they can do it power to them. It’s just sad blizz will make this an excuse to not make actual void elf customizations.
Never paladins, void elves are void infused, paladins are light infused. they try to mix em and a big bang will happen!
neutral pandas are playable until level 10 or whatever when you pick your faction. im suggesting the same. not rocket science here. And its not like nelves would be joining the same horde with sylvanas gone under new leadership and being close to home in kalimdor with tauren etc they would probably find that very appealing compared to a boy king who didn’t defend their home.
I definitely think that this was the best call, and it only solidifies what I thought in the past: that Blizzard don’t want the story of the High Elves to be something put in the players’ hands.
My theory on that is because they want it to remain as a thing of the past. That doesn’t mean they’re cutting them out of the entire story, but NPCs existing is not the same as PCs existing. They (the writers) keep more control, storywise, and I think it’s because they want to steer the lore in a way that says Thalassian Elves have evolved, as a whole, to something new. The Silver Covenant is a story piece that serves a purpose, but ultimately isn’t the story that Blizzard wants to highlight for Quel’thalas elves.
I’d really like to see new glyphs for Inscription that allow us to change racial skills. Maybe they could add a glyph that will turn the Void Elf teleport and Entropic Embrace into an arcane colored alternative.
No it isn’t. If a group of gnomes decided to start calling themselves hobbits, they’d still be gnomes.
Eh. If anything, players are “Rarer” than NPC’s.
So it doesn’t do anything to change the racial narrative. A player character is a special snowflake.
Literally, yes, because there are millions of players but they’re not in story, which is what the basis is founded on.
Plus, having a race be playable means you’ve got to keep that race relevant and involved. High Elves, as a group, would need to have a presence in the main storyline beyond showing up once in a while as a nameless High Elven NPC or as the Silver Covenant from time to time.
Yeah but that’s happening anyways.
There have been High Elf NPC’s in BFA and every other expansion.
There have been, but they’re barely involved as a race. It’s as I said, High-Elven-Nameless-NPC holding a portal open doesn’t require story or involvement.
Yeah but that’s par for the course for a lot of races. WoD and Legion aren’t exactly exploding with gnomes.
