nothing wrong
i am a clicker lol
nope 1,2,3,4,5 or to 6 and full mouse.
i have 2 hands.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, F, R, S+1-4, S+D, S+Q, S+R, S+F, S+C, S+G, S+X, S+Z, Alt+1, Alt+2, Alt+3, Alt+4, F1, F2, F3, F4
is that a forbidden language
my hands are so small i only use 1-4 ^^ sometimes i stretch my comfort zone and try for the 5 ^^
I clicked up until Cata/MoP probably, then slowly started using keybinds, started out with maybe 2, worked my way up to that, now I even had stuff like Goblin Gliders and mounts/consumables on keybinds. Makes life so much easier once you get use to it
its all good
i tried the short cuts a bit.
but you could say i should have pizza and i had a bad time lol
Use what works for you.
I used 1-6 until I got a gaming mouse with side keys. Still used a-w-d for movement. Then got a keypad. Now use the gaming mouse with side keys and keypad together.
Itâs what works for me. You do you.
If you are then Iâm a noob. I probably am a noob even aside from keybinds, definitely casual.
I do the numeric keypad since I worked as an accounting clerk for 2.5 years while working as an undergrad and can use it without looking at the keys. I use the mouse to move unless I need to switch targets a lot like when Iâm healing then I use my arrow keys which I operate with my thumb. I keep the same basic keys for function across classes. + is interrupt, - is boost, 1 for opening boost, 2 for movement attack, 3 for opening abilities, 4-6 for rotation, 7 for energy spend, 8-9 for either heal or AoE, 0 for movement abilities.
I have everything as mouseover and offensives as targettarget. Boosts I do castsequence so I can use first and second boost. I macro in events off GCD where they seem appropriate or where theyâre recommended. Itâs not perfect but I have 1 of every class and it helps me keep their rotations straight. Sometimes doing WQs I completely forget what character Iâm on but I can muddle through.
not at all i use 1-5. mentioned you use mouse buttons, can use shift, alt, or ctrl for those buttons too. i also use the mouse wheel for shift and ctrl as well, good for the bigger cds
Iâm worse than you since I use like 1-3 with a sometimes 4 and then mouseclick the rest of 'em lol.
heisuke are you kevin heart i dienât know any one had smaller hands then me ;o
I use WERT for my main four key attack rotation and put everything else around those four as needed. Usually heals or other helps below and any other offensives above.
I have actually gone back to using the game UI, but I may swap back to Dominos once the prepatch is live
of course you are undead, someone else to use the apocalypse key of Alt + F4?
Well, you are a noob if other people opinions about your keyboard and mouse config matters to you
I donât think so.
I run 1-6, R, T, C, V, Shift-R, Shift-T, Shift-X, Shift-F, F1-F4, and ` on the left hand.
And then I have 12 mouse buttons on the right hand plus M4, and M5.
4 is my kick on every spec which has one. 2 and 3 are filler abilities used often. 5 and 6 are cooldowns. 1 is trinket.
Honestly key binds are largely about finding what feels both functional and efficient for you and sometimes comes to to your keyboard and/or mouse themselves and how their functional.
Part of it is just learning as you go.
1-4 are great spots for core rotation abilities. A further basic rule of thumb is if using a key is a harder movement on your hand youâll likely want to put an ability you use less frequently on those keys.
Using keybinds is really only inconvenient when your trying to type while playing.
I donât know if I have the record for most backwards keybinding idea, but I mapped all my abilities to the number pad, and still moved my character with WASD. So I was continually moving from the number pad with my right hand to my mouse for targeting. I would have to memorize fights to know when to swap over for targeting purposes, and I used a lot of tab targeting of course.
This was as a tank in WOTLK, didnât stop me from killing LK heroic 25 and Halion heroic 25 but man, if any of my guild officers had seen me doing it they would have probably kicked me for sure lol.
I use a Naga now, with Shift and Alt modifiers. I still use WAD for movement but A and D are strafing keys and I just turn with my mouse. Itâs still goofy, but I still raid mythic at the US 700 level (nowhere near my heyday, but screw it, Iâm old now).
I should add macros like that since I heal on several toons.
For me, main rotation on 1-5, cool downs on 6-7, emergency 8-9, mount 0. Other spells I donât use as often are mouse clicked. Movement is keys or mouse both. Have different spells for each spec.
Since I play every class, I donât want to spend time on ui adjustments. Can jump on a toon I havenât played for a long time and still get by.
Play the game for how it works for you. If those keybinds work for you, all the power to you.
