q w e r plus shifts
1 2 3 4 5 plus shifts
f z x c v plus shifts
8 0 plus shifts which are mouse buttons
t is opie for marking and world markers primarily

a s d movement forward and strafes and a button on mouse for backpedal

Personally can’t stand the default ui just because I prefer minimalist clean bars but you do you.

I also have all my action bars hidden and use weak auras instead.

I use 1-4 a lot. 5-6 rarely, and 7-0 never.

I use 1-5 for rotation abilities, QERFZXCV with mod macros for alt and ctrl tied to mouse buttons for alt and ctrl (giving me three sets of binds for each of those letters), shift+QERFZXCV for items like healthstones and sanity cloak (my mouse only has two extra buttons so I use the keyboard for this one), and click non essential stuff like crafting or buffs.

As the title suggests, people out there have such complex keybinds and such but im still using 1234 like the default,

i mean all that matters is that you have all your abilities bound

i’ve raided top 10 US and have my damage abilities bound to 1-4 as well as q,e,r,t,y,s,f,g,h,z,x,c,v,b and shift-most of those + naga binds

Use whatever feels comfortable for you.
However, consider that if you have to lift your fingers off movement to perform instant abilities interrupting your movement…

there may be other solutions.

op implied that it was a less than ideal way to play but that they can ‘still do heroic’

so as a reference point at the highest end it’s not a fault to use 1234 binds

dont be so bitter/insecure, there’s nothing wrong with being a casual you don’t need to feel attacked

Tbh, anyone who says your a noob because of your choice of keybind setup has something wrong in their head… everyone is different, what works for one as a keybind setup may be impossibly unintuitive and awkward for another…

For example… I know a lot of people bind Q&E for various abilities… I don’t and can’t… for me Q&E have always been Strafe Left and Strafe Right. If I bind them as anything else, I constantly find myself activating abilities I didn’t mean to while trying to strafe instead… it just doesn’t work for me, never has and never will.

It is much like the age old argument of keyboard turning vs mouse turning… in 90% of content it will never make a meaningful difference to be able to turn faster with a mouse than with a keyboard… and most of the remaining 10% it’s still only a marginal difference. It’s something that really only means anything when it comes to highend PvP…

The only thing that can usually be seen as a “noob” thing to do when it comes to layout is to have a lot of major abilities in unbound slots to be clicked with your mouse… but even that is subjective… I have seen some people playing with very high DPI mice who can maneuver their mouse between abilities with such high speed and accuracy that you would never even know they weren’t using keybinds if you couldn’t see their interface.

I have 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0,z,x,c,a,d,t,f,’,v,=,-. I also have shift binds. They want to add more class abilities, IM OUT OF BINDS STOP IT.

I use default UI. Use number pad for abilities. Mouse side buttons
and press mouse wheel for heals, interrupts, things like that.
Use arrow keys to move when not in combat. Mouse to move
when in combat.

I mean I use number keys up to 7 because I’m not as mobile being warlock but I also have some things on mouse 4?, R, F and V if I need to use other things I click on it
Of course this might be more complex in Shadowlands though
