Am confused about authenticator app for phone!

how do i know which app i have on phone?
will this cause me to lose access to my wow account if i still have wrong version but still have physical version?
do i have to open a ticket to have it removed?
does this mean i lose my bag slots?
do i have to get a new phone number for the other app if i need to switch?
im so confused!

The mobile authenticator in in the battle.net app now.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but you’re still using the physical authenticator right? You cannot use both. It’s one or the other. Thankfully, most apps update automatically in the background, so you don’t even need to worry.

Not sure why you need to remove it. So no.

If you remove either your authenticator OR Text Messaging from Blizz (or both) then you lose the 4 bag slots.

There’s no “other” app.

what about that announcement that was made earlier about a new app or something?
also i have or have had the app downloaded but i didnt go past the remove physical authenticator step yet.

No “New” app, just migrating the separate auth app into the companion app and retiring the stand alone. Both work with the exact same code, but now in one complete app.

Migrating Your Authenticator to the Battle.net Mobile App

The Battle.net Authenticator feature is now available in the Battle.net mobile app. The Battle.net Authenticator app will soon be removed from all app stores and will no longer be available for download—you will keep using the Battle.net Authenticator through the Battle.net mobile app.

If you currently have your Battle.net Authenticator in the Battle.net Authenticator app, you can migrate to the new Battle.net mobile app now! Once you migrate to the new app you can remove the legacy Authenticator app from your device. Learn more in our support article.

You can continue to do so until they remove the separate app from the play store.

Postponing migration?

You are not required to migrate now. Your Battle.net Authenticator will continue to work within the old Battle.net Authenticator app for a limited time. However, if you uninstall your Authenticator app or change your mobile device and need to reinstall, you can install the new Battle.net mobile app.
