i did celebration on first toon, and yep was pretty happy with it, need to earn a lot of bronze because lots of new things i want, so after first toon had done i switched to another and it earns no bronze??? so then went and tried the weekly collecting fragments which showed 2 bronze but delivered none??? can anyone fill me in on if this is now normal

Blizz figured out alts were exploiting. They nerfed it yesterday. Now they all have to do the quests and repeats are reduced.

I did the quests still no bronze on alts, i try on two alts then gave up, so i guess its down to weeklys only on one toon

Well balls. I figured that was how I was going to get around the drip and drab system they have in place, knock it out in a few days and go back to my regularly scheduled programing.

It says that it’s one per account going into it.

ty now i understand  i think it is mean of bliz though, pretty petty actually when they have never done that in 20 years of the game

You and everyone else, and something in their algorithm told them currency was moving a bit too quickly. Fun was in fact detected.

That makes no sense, the tokens are warband transferable. So, how is that an “exploit?”

If they didn’t intend for us to run alts, then why didn’t they just make the tokens soulbound?

They made it transferrable to send over the initial tokens, and the weekly rewards but quickly figured out that alts were getting the same “full credit” as the first character to run it and sets were being bought in one day, and not one week.

Okay I am NOT defending blizzard overall as this patch is hot garbage but I can see their point on this.

If you could do the same quest for tokens on alts people would be here complaining about “having,” to log in on 40 toons everyday for currency. Those people would also then complain they were bored after a week because they bought everything

This is a can’t win scenario for blizz.

And I refuse to defend them, but I see the logic in this specific change. It prevents players from “feeling forced” to log into 20+ alts just to grind for some Anniversary crap. Now they can simply use whichever character they like, transfer them to the character who needs to purchase the set / item, and then send back the rest.

Well there are 14 Armor sets, so 14 days of play over the event doesn’t seem unreasonable. These are just 20th anniversary, sets, right? And 21st will have some new sets?

We’ve known since before the event was out that this was once per account. Nothing was changed. It’s been like this since the initial articles.

I am NOT defending it and NOT going there with ANY of you. They set the rule, they made the change, they want it to span 10 weeks… Take it up with MicroBlizz. My reason for chatting has concluded.

No, all rewards will be available next anniversary.

Blizzard could easily have designed the event in a winning way without requiring alts - all they had to do was add currency as rewards to repeatable event activities.

And if they really felt they needed to take a loss by stringing players along over the entire event, they could have simply set a weekly limit for currency to gate progress.

Oh, so they didn’t actually want us to get all the sets this year. I see.

I’m not sure. I’d have to see what happens once we earn the 100 and get more ways to earn Bronze unlocked.

The math, over 10 weeks, allows you to buy every item at the event. They planned the currency to make it take 10 weeks. People should really just go read the article and stop trusting the forums.

For the Anniversary event, we want these epic new rewards to feel both special to players and well-earned. To that end, we have worked to create a rewarding system that should help players earn their first Tier 2 set in the first 2-3 weeks depending upon their play style. We know that there are a lot of people who are excited to earn more sets, if not all of them. To accommodate this, we have both discounts and increased abilities to earn currency that kick in after those early weeks (detailed further below).

Looking through the article now, yeah, it looks like you can earn all the sets, but possibly not all of the other stuff with Bronze.

And that same article from a month ago tells us it’s once per account and we can’t run multiple characters.

So the person claiming it was changed… I don’t know where they’re getting that from. They literally linked the old article telling us that.
