It’s kinda like how in games like GW2 you can choose your origin story, and in FF14 there’s a subrace option e.g. as a Miqo’te you can choose whether you’re a Seeker of the Sun or Keeper of the Moon.
It adds so much flavor and probably result in a lot more alts for everyone lol
Aye those little options go a long way for telling a characters story.
I agree. If blizz can add that to wow, they won’t need AR’s for sub groups using the same skeleton. They can add them as customization and give you options to choose your origin.
Obviously there’s some evolution of some of the base races in Shadowlands.
Trolls were historically only the Darkspear but now they are getting dark and sand troll skins. Dwarves were historically only Bronzebeards but now they are getting a ton of Wildhammer options.
The concept of these two races is shifting to something more broad. No reason why they couldn’t get a set of new racials to highlight that.
They’re trying to give players choice to be a Wildhammer through those customization.
Since they likely won’t be doing a Wildhammer AR I think this is a sensible compromise.
It’s all outlined in my main post.
No this is asking blizzard to offer a secondary option for players to have Wildhammer based racials.
I agree. I see this as an opportunity for blizzard to give us the races or groups that are really close to their parent races going forward without doing an AR. However giving options in the form of racials that can be switched out to fit the theme of the sub race/group seems like a good idea.
Still hope blizzard does something for the Wildhammer dwarves. It’s a great disservice to the Wildhammer lore to leave us as minor customization without our Stormhammers or a Gryphon based racial.
