Alterac Valley is massively tilted in favor of Alliance

This battleground is beyond broken when playing as horde. Every single game the alliance are on drek and capping towers before we can even get north to do the same. On top of all this the alliance base is so well designed a single 5 person team can defend it long enough for the massive zerg force down south to pull the boss.

Every.
Single.

I can’t wait to hear from some of the “Horde” players that are going to come in here and swear that they have a 100% win ratio in this broken battleground.

Moving the tunnel was wrong and it needs to be reverted because this map is borderline unwinnable as Horde. We have to play perfectly in order to beat the Alliance zerg rush and it needs to change.

Yep the map favors ally for pve race, horde for choke strat. Sadly many horde players will report you for pvping at all in AV. God forbid you go to drek’s room at start or you actually risk a temp ban

In original tbc ally “boycotted” av and simply never queued it. i believe this is when they moved the horde cave (Correct me if i am wrong)

How does one person win or lose a 40 person battleground?

Same way one person can contribute massively to a football game. I just saying I’ve lost 4 in a row…and just now a 5th AV as alliance. I think AV is perfectly balanced. But hey that’s my opinion…wrong or right :man_shrugging:t3:

Sadly it is what it is, they wont re design AV. But its definitely not balanced like most maps in games where is basically mirrored

i agree but you can still make some high-value moves

At start, spin a tower as long as you can (great for palas, shams with ankh, geared people with resil cap and full tanky spec) using a potion and healthstone etc. Buying even 30 sec can help a ton

Mess around in your boss area, baiting people into the boss etc. try not to get your corpse looted

solo defending SPGY or FWGY, or relief hut at start (better for rogues with vanish)

at the start when the whole enemy group rides by, slowing them wth blizzard or mass dispeling all their good buffs

But yes overall you’re 1 person in 80 but people can still make big plays imo

Horde had a 99.9% win rate all of classic

I actually don’t think they have an advantage if you only need to burn the first 2 towers/bunkers. I usually cap SHB before the first tower gets capped and you can LoS all the archers by hugging the pillar as you cap.

Obviously if 1 team back caps a single tower/bunker and the other team doesn’t they will probably win.

If you sit in the first alliance tower and delay their cap for like 20 seconds and your team pulls as soon as 2 bunkers burn you will probably win.

You can also kill boss with 3 bunkers up if you have a geared tank which can shake things up even more.

I’m probably 50/50 or maybe even a bit higher as horde atm and most losses are because too many ran past bunkers and we got back capped or not enough were ready at boss when bunkers burned to pull.

Where were you in classic asking for AV to be balanced as it massively favored horde?

Actually we were winning nearly every game as horde until all the AFK and low level leeches turned up in pre-patch looking to get carried…

How about people actually back cap, play the objective and at least show up at max level… I’m not even tilted by bad gear…

PS, when you take a base it doesn’t require 10 players to defend it, 2 or 3 is plenty to prevent a back capping rogue or druid.

Yep. Alliance on a few runs today wasn’t watching towers. besides me anyway. those were L’s not W’s.

either team is capable of losing this really. I had other matches also the lone tower sitter but no one came. why I kill galv as my SOP before tower duty. it gets me a few points on the meters. Look…I am not AFK lol.

as I am only intro pvp gear now looking to grind brutal maybe…its not be hard to 3 on 1 me lol.

never assume because the last 3 matches alliance put 8 people up in IBT or TP its happening the 4th one.

AV as I see it’s has the issue of its speed runs. some horde won against my teams because a few people said let’s check, we may get lucky.

They saw 1 rogue stayed not in thier e horde rush to the north en masse. dead rogue coming up once the dot is on me.

i love the hill people in the south.

funny bit is these are the first to rant when horde backcaps.

how could you lose it? 4 on 1…I can lose it quite easily really.

I actually stopped going all the way south pretty early on cause I was getting tired of standing there and horde winning before the alliance even pulled. Bunkers are much more fun

Not sure if you played AV in classic but omg horde won like 98 out of 100 matches after the pre mades farming Don Julio ring ended. It was so awful and even if ally are winning even 51 percent now that’s music to my ears.

Is it this way for US?
As russian with bgs mostly against english EU servers - Horde always wins alterac.

First there’s short fight in the middle, then we cap towers and kill Balinda, then we farm graveyard without capturing it. Then some dumbo captures it so we proceed to other towers and graves

Really the only time horde isn’t autowin is when russian server fights against russian, then it’s just 2 hours of fighting in middle
