Again, the issue as I see it is that blizzard simply gauges “fun” by “participation”.
However with 1.12 AV, participation will plummet once those only there for gear get the gear. Those who enjoyed the content that was removed will have a lot less to enjoy there.
Also, something that those who claim the early version was not “popular” and many more people participated in 1.12 leave out:
Many were still leveling during 1.5
Many players were not geared enough during 1.5
Many players did not know how to play the BG during 1.5
This post is hilarious because AV “experience” doesn’t matter post BC. Since AV was gutted and turned into garbage. Statistics in the armory tab didn’t even exist, thus were not kept track of, back in vanilla.
I think this deserves more attention, particularly in cases when people say, “You can do xyz on these pservers which are exactly like blizz but harder”
Does anyone know if there’s a reason why a Vanilla PvP title wouldn’t show up in the Legacy achievements tab on an armory profile? I’ve seen some people claim they PvP’d in Vanilla but on different characters and that’s why they don’t have titles on the characters they’re posting on.
The thing is, I can see both my Vanilla PvP titles on any character I post on. Maybe if you never logged into your Vanilla PvP characters since achievements launched?
b) Because the account they’re using is not the Battle Net account they got it on. A number of L10 accounts are created by people simply so that they can talk here without resubbing, and so that when one account gets banned they can just make another free one.
Hmmm, so someone claiming they don’t have a Legacy title in their armory on the character they’re posting on because they boosted that character and “did the vast majority of their PvP on twinks” is likely lying about ever playing Vanilla.
Or at the very least never did any PvP in Vanilla, as I seem to recall it taking virtually no effort at all to obtain the rank of Private.
