Alterac Valley in Classic

I have tried googling these and I can’t find any photos or videos at all. I really want THAT version in classic.

Is there some sort of compromise that can be done here? From the moment Classic servers were announced, one of the main things people were hyping up was original AV. To now say that it won’t be there is a pretty big disappointment. I started in late 2006, so I never even got to experience original AV. I want to experience it. It was probably in the top 3 things I was most looking forward to.

So, I’m just wondering, is there a way to have both versions in the game? One that is the 1.12 version, and one that is the 1.5 version(that seems to be the one most people are referring to for the original). If it’s actually possible to do that, I would hope that the devs could discuss it. Having said that, if it’s not possible, then I truly think original AV would be the best choice as it seems to be the one that the community wants and has clamored for ever since the announcement.

Save the lame 15 minute AV for retail for the casuals, start developing to your actual base. Nobody wants a 1.12 Legion clone, they want CLASSIC.

Start making calls to some old names, this generation at blizzard is LOST.

Had no idea there were ever other areas of av that were removed. Is there any place I can see them? For as much as I love av, even in live wow, that’s disappointing to know that I could have actually seen something new in the game for the first time with classic, but do recognize that 1.12 version is of course part of classic.

Wish there was a way to at least see the old parts. Any one know of videos or images of it? First time hearing of it honestly.

• Lots of Standing Guards

• Long battles

1.8:

• Winterax Hold removed
• Wildpaw Ridge removed
• Syndicate NPC’s removed
• Mine Layers, Landmines removed
• Shorter battles

1.10:

• Korrak the Bloodrager removed
• Portable Shredder Unit removed

1.11:

• Tower/Bunker Guards removed
• Most Patrols removed
• Most Standing Guards removed
• Ridiculous short battle

Please fight for and let’s make sure we get 1.5 AV.

This is the part that I don’t like. Once the sharding and the Cross-Realm and the fact that your name doesn’t matter anymore, then it just isn’t Classic.

Any “Sharding” in Classic/Vanilla would not be the true Vanilla Experience, if they ever added Sharding instead of more servers, SEE YA.

In my mind, that would be my Ultimate betrayal and my time would end with Blizzard once and for all.

That’s too bad. Having played 1.12 AV it usually ends up as a rush on both ends without seeing an enemy player.

Kind of sad the mines and shredder aren’t returning. I think the bombers and sunmonable raid bosses will be there, but I doubt they’ll ever get used.

Sometimes a decent defense at balinda or galv can change it to a more defensive game, or if you can convince a group of 5-10 to recap and defend towers. People always choose the path of least resistance for honor or rep gain >.<
