Remember when that was completely irrelevant when AVs lasted hours, if not days? Such imbalances only became a factor when the bg turned into a zergfest…which 1.12 will be.

It was an epic battle of 40 horde versus the Alliance warlord. A perilous battle when all was nearly lost but it seemed that the horde were finally going to overthrow the alliance command and take victory over the valley once and for all. When all at once 39 of your comrads seemed to just disappear, taken through the ether leaving you 1v1 versus the commander. You only knew the welcoming tug of death and that hope was truly lost.

When I think of Vanilla AV, I think of patch 1.5… that was the AV that lasted the longest throughout vanilla.

I want the original experience. I rather you put in Korak and make this the struggle that it used to be, fighting for hours and hours or sometimes days. I do not feel 1.12 is going to give that experience.

IMO it’s not the ORIGINAL AV that I was looking forward too. I’m VERY SAD and DISAPPOINTED by this point.

GIVE US THE REAL AV EXPERIENCE!!! Don’t dumb it down!!

You’re failing us Blizzard, 1.12 AV is superior to current AV yes, but it still encourages rushing to the end and ignoring the enemy, the previous versions of it, were a true battle, you worked with your faction to obtain resources to slowly achieve victory, if people want fast BG’s they have WSG and AB, leave AV as it was, we want classic to play content that’s no longer available, taking the easy 1.12 way out is disappointing to say the least.

Thanks for update. Was hoping for having the summoning bosses in, but can’t complain since the plan is what was in classic, so it’s good to know what to expect.

The summons are still in. It’s just not going to happen though, since 1.12 is just a zerg.

Ah that’s too bad, because i remember in early vanilla people yelling to go together once the elemental was summoned, and for healers to heal him and give him buffs. And it was a big tug of war sometimes.

just to clear this up, yes AV lasted for hours, this does not mean you needed to be in the same AV for hours. there were all loads of side activity to get rep and gold.

AV was an EVENT, not a paper plate activity you just toss in the trash whenever you felt like it.

all those side quests will be a thing of the past as people will rush to finish as fast as possible

That’s right, It better be very long AVs. Even if the Alterac Valley ends on a stalemate before a server reset, I and (many others) would be happy with it.

Oh well I can handle it but to anyone who missed out on vanilla this is one of the more iconic things (for myself anyway) epic AV battles that could go on for days.

Classic is not vanilla but I am sure it will be a great imitation all the same.

I want the original AV. The full thing. I never got to experience it. I don’t want the version we have now but with reinforcements not in place.

Had no idea there were ever other areas of av that were removed. Is there any place I can see them? For as much as I love av, even in live wow, that’s disappointing to know that I could have actually seen something new in the game for the first time with classic, but do recognize that 1.12 version is of course part of classic.

Wish there was a way to at least see the old parts. Any one know of videos or images of it? First time hearing of it honestly.
