Alterac Valley in Classic

too bad you guys didn’t continue this type of game behavior to your game today, or you’d have a huge playerbase.

Ion and the rest of these teams slowly destroyed one of the greatest games. Now we just play to play, not to enjoy

Well, if we’re gonna play that game…MC came out in 1.1 so that was meant for 1.1 talents and player abilities, not the 1.12 ones. right ?

crickets?

Still no response to this?

I’ll respond…check and mate !!!

Why are you implying they are doing the player base a favor? Blizzard is doing it for the $$$$. This project is not a gift. Blizzard does nothing for “free” or they would be out of business. Once you lose that mentality, you will see that we are trying to improve this project. This will increase Blizzards return on investment. That is blizzards ultimate goal…make $$$.

The thing he completely misses while wringing his hands about private servers like Nost: THOSE were more of a gift horse than what Blizzard is doing. Blizzard was not offering vanilla, and PSs like Nost stepped up, put the effort in, actually attempted to make it vanilla-like (read: challenging rather than the 1.12 faceroll), and were doing it for love of the game and not for a windfall profit. Now he tells us we are “lucky” to be getting classic? We were already getting it, perhaps not a perfect reproduction, but the spirit was there.

Blizzard has the means and manpower to do better than any PS, and they are putting as little effort into it as possible instead. It is frankly embarrassing to see.

If that were the case, they wouldn’t be giving it the Retail sub safety net (Retail’s almost guaranteed not to die anytime soon despite our problems with it; we’re a vocal minority) and expecting a huge drop-off in players not long after launch.

If releasing Classic was all about money, they’d give it its own sub and they’d have a LOT more faith in it than they clearly do. It also wouldn’t be marketed as a “museum.”

Yeah, they’re a company, and companies love to make money, but is it REALLY outside the realm of possibility that this really was just something they thought they’d throw together and make available to the masses because it was being demanded?

I think you mean they broke TOS, stole IP and them and others made money off of many who claimed to object to giving blizzard money… Yet they would give money to private servers for perks and boosts and bags and such.

Yea… for the love of the game.

Know why they were offshore? Because it was and still is illegal.

Not our saviours.

Neither of you actually addressed what I posted, while you fell over each other to decry them as criminals, and accusing me of being a shill (for a ps that no longer exists.).

No we actually have. . Many many times.

THis is you mode… Deny we speak to your question, while ignoring what we have already said.

Night bro

Honestly this is the only reasonable explanation for some of these design decisions.

What? This makes no sense, AV exists on BFA with absurdly different classes.

Completely irrational fear

Yeah couldn’t agree more with this. It’s sad to see how either lazy or incompetent this batch of developers is.

Or maybe it’s poor management these guys are forced to work under. Don’t know, but it’s something made of colossal ineptitude.

2,200 Replies and nearly 80,000 views and not a peep out of Blizzard. And they say they listen to feedback.

My guess is that someone in the Blizzard hierarchy made the decision to dedicate as few resources to Classic as possible to get the project off the ground. Assuming that’s true, until Blizzard commits more manpower to Classic, reverting AV is likely a time sink and a non-starter. Therefore, the Classic dev team has no incentive to respond to feedback since the answer would be variations of “no” repeated indefinitely.

If the Blizzard penny pinchers can’t be swayed now, then our best bet is Classic taking off in popularity, convincing them that further investment is warranted.

To be fair 2000 of those replies are the same people talking at each other over and over again.

I’d be happy with the 1.8 version over 1.12.

If you build it, they will come.

Ya this really bothers me. Activision Blizzard made 7.5 billion dollars last year yet a couple of hobbyist amateurs made a more authentic version of their game. They can do so much better.

Garbage cop out. This AV is retail.

Money grab classic wannabee.
