Its so they can show the investers subs without having to explain to them why a 15 year old game is doing as good or almost as good numbers as the current one. Also they can stagger content between both versions to make up for their not being able to keep bfa content going without content droughts. They release a bfa patch wait until it stagnates release a classic phase rinse and repeat.
The issue is that the Classic team at Blizzard think vanilla WoW is a PvE game and are devoting as little time and resources to PvP as possible.
Spoiler: Vanilla WoW is the absolute WORST version of PvE in WoW.
Nearly every raider I knew raided so get gear to beat people up in PvP. All end game led to PvPā¦
Some early AV would sound good right about now.
Even more sad as despite how glaringly obvious it is, the mods turn a blind eye.
There will be more PVP in STV than AV 1.12.
There will be more PVP in the Stormwind AH than in 1.12 AV.
There will be more PVP in the general forum than in 1.12 AV.
Me, too. There was a time when taking a tower or a bunker solo was iffy business. Make the NPCās worthy opponents! I know thatās not PVP, but it also isnāt faceroll.
There already is more PVP in this thread than 1.12 AV and thatās how Blizzard likes it.
Sad, but true.
If retail gets an older āversionā for the 15th anniversary than classic does, it will be quite clear that someone in power within blizzard is quite the troll.
bring back the multi day AV battles blizzard
BRING IT BACK
I just want to put in my two cents. I never started playing WoW until mid TBC, and I played on my dadās account. But my earliest memories of WoW were watching my dad fighting in a place I later learned was called Alterac Valley. He would play for a couple hours, then get off to go have dinner. After dinner, he would go back in, and play some more. This is what I wanted when I started playing WoW, these battles that felt like they were bigger than just me. And the Alterac Valley that I got just left me feeling empty. I respect that it is Blizzardās decision as to how they implement this, and I know that one person with a sad story likely wonāt change anything. But when I heard about Classic WoW, I thought for a second that maybe, just maybe, I could participate in those battles I used to spend hours watching my dad play. So like I said, I get it is their call, but if they implement 1.12 AV, donāt expect to see me out there. I wonāt be going anywhere near it.
This thread is 4 months old, with over 2 thousand replies, the huge majority of them asking Blizzard to NOT use AV 1.12.
Clearly, the community desire means nothing to them.
I desire 1.12 AV. Now wot.
You are not even a majority of a person, much less the community.
You are only a gnome.
Not sure about that. The thread is this long because of the back and forth between the two views and many repeat posters.
People certainly do post a lot.
1.12 AV is not Classic AV. If you put this version of AV in the Classic WoW, then it is not a true Classic WoW. People who want to play the abbreviated watered down AV, need to go do it on a BFA server. If you make this decision, I will have no interest in renewing my subscription. Donāt make this mistake of not creating a true authentic version of Classic WoW.
Itās already been made.
See ya on the 26th!
