This version of AV feels like the modern one, with very little differences. I won’t be playing it any more, I just don’t like it, I was really hoping for true old school AV with the NPCs and all the stuff that made it an epic multi day fight. Please give me access back to the other beta realms so I can play my leveling chars, that at least is true vanilla experience.
It’s the first time since I got in beta that I’m actually reconsidering giving away any sub money for Classic. I was expecting a LOT from AV. I’m deceived.
Yeah! It’s weird like we are screaming we want old AV! And they are so stuck in their old ways “you think you do…”. We do want it. We all do. It doesn’t represent everyone’s experience in Vanilla. This 1.12 AV was not around as long.
It’s disheartening to hear that AV in Classic isn’t going to be the same as the AV in Vanilla. It’s disappointing when everyone can say that they want 1 particular thing and get flatout ignored.
I mean at the end of the day it’s hearsay. The only way I can side with that is if there is some form of substantial evidence that claims that to be the truth.
Because from my personal experience the current AV is disliked.
I’m saying I want to experience the original AV. All I know is the AV from WotLK onward. I don’t particularly care about how other people feel about it, I want the whole Vanilla WoW package.
Within an hour of the servers opening, both Horde and Alliance were at each others Generals. The Alliance wiped and the Horde won.
I don’t think one hour is long enough to be a full Alterac Valley experience.
I would like Patch 1.7 with some 1.8 changes:
In order to keep teams in Alterac Valley more numerically balanced, players will now enter Alterac Valley on a one-for-one basis (i.e. if there are 30 players in the battleground for each side with 10 players in the Alliance queue and 2 players in the Horde queue, only two players from each team will be added, bringing the total to 32 per side).
The minimum number of players required to start a battle in Alterac Valley has been lowered to 20 (the maximum is still 40).
Graveyard capture points are now at different locations. The banners players must interact with in order to capture a graveyard have been distanced from each other somewhat in order to alleviate “graveyard zerging”.
Several terrain changes were made to fix some geometry exploits.
Iceblood Graveyard has been fortified.
The Frostwolf Relief Hut now has appropriate guards.
