If your argument is that Blizzard changed it because players didn’t like it all I literally have to ask is have you seen BFA?
I spent more time from 50 - 60 in AV than I did leveling, it was some of the best content in the game to me. I didn’t even expect to be able to queue into BGs from the world in classic and thought I would have to go to the portal like the old days. Then learning it’s gonna be the AV lite that is 1.12 I pretty much didn’t even care.
Ziryus, check out the interview of J. Allen Brack back in 2017 when this was first announced. You can just google “PC Gamer J Allen Brack Interview” should be the first one listed.
In it, he talks about how he expects many players to peel off. This is what I’m referring to when I say that many people will end up prefering BfA and not sticking around for Classic.
Then I don’t know what to tell you. If people like WoW but don’t like Classic, they aren’t going to play Classic, they’re going to play BfA. The people who want that RPG experience will play Classic, so Classic should retain its RPG elements.
Right and I’m saying that people who played during vanilla didn’t like original AV either. There’s nothing special about people still playing BFA or who played later versions of WoW that changed that original AV just wasn’t a very good map.
I thought Nost was basing stuff off of 1.12? It’s a common practice for private servers.
Some people didn’t like it, but plenty of people did. I was one of them and I played with others who enjoyed it
I don’t like how raiding worked in Vanilla, but I wouldn’t ask for that to be changed for a more casual experience on my behalf. People back then complained, but that doesn’t make them right. People complaining about difficulty and obstacles, plus Blizzard caving is one aspect many want rolled back with the creation of Classic.
In my experience it was because they honestly didn’t care about AV enough to be there, before or after the changes. They were there for the rewards, and then ready to get out. Those same players didn’t start enjoying AV after the changes, the changes just helped them grind it faster than never go back. That’s not a good formula for the long-term health of AV. It should be reset to a point where at least some part of the community enjoyed it for the gameplay alone.
People need to stop replying to this person. It has been posted before that he was anti-classic during the “Give us classic, blizzard” forum threads and did not want us to get it. There was actual proof to quotes/links of him doing this, if you really want I can go find it.
Now he just trolling the classic forums to try to ruin classic for people out of spite
He is a forum troll and any decent moderator would have perma banned him by now. Since this site does not have moderators, people need to just ignore him.
They took AV and attempted to replicate the early aspects. Was not perfect, but it was a far cry closer to true vanilla than the watered down 1.12. The fact that they had the passion to try, to actually put in the effort, speaks volumes about their commitment compared to Blizzard’s.
You see, he is just innocently giving his “opinions”. *championing anything and everything that is the worst parts and versions of vanilla aspects because he is a sour grapes troll that did not get changes beyond the scope of the vanilla timeline.
