CLASSIC AV had bg numbers and didn’t allow 5 mans so are we really discussing CLASSIC anymore? If players are using toxic behavior to defend these changes, then blizzards lack of intervention for the same issues previously is relevant.
Your kidding right? This is not a fix. LMFAO
The amount of Alliance tears in here is amazing. I filled my pools with them tears and now got a supply to last me all through Naxx.
Alliance knew they were “Premading” in a bg that had no intentions of the possibility of being Premade. Basically they were cheating to give them an unfair advantage over other player in the game on both horde and alliance.
You all deserve at least a 3 week account lock or have you honor wiped. Blizzard gave you all nothing for cheating, they removed the numbers and you entitled cowards come here and cry #nochange.
Are you referring to me?
If so, no I’m nobody’s alt on this forum. And if you truly believe that statement is improperly used, you should have listened closer to your stats teacher.
You attributed queue times to population; the are a multitude of other key indicators that could impact queue time as well.
If they do anything with bubble pulling because of some PvP nonsense, then Blizzard can screw themselves. Bubble pulling is a pretty large part of Alliance raiding strategy, as it allows tanks to pick up designated targets easier.
I don’t even PvP, only touched AV for the 2 days after it came out to get exalted, but I really don’t like the idea of Classic changing at all - we all knew there would be broken mechanics, thus is the nature of vanilla, but this opens the floodgates and means anything is possible with enough persistent complaining.
You are incredibly delusional. AV winrates from 2014-2015 show 85% A : 15%H for NA and 92% A : 8%H for EU. Where are you guys getting this horsesh!t that horde have better racials for PVP? Or that BG favors our winrates . Historical averages of AV have ALWAYS favored Alliance heavily - it’s been WSG and AB that have had 50% winrates (so the favoritism you’re reffering to - it’s Alliance only). The crazy crap is us like horde have to pull up stat after stat and you guys sit there spewing contradictory garbage with no one calling you/fact-checking you on it. You guys really can’t figure out it’s a simple mechanic: the busted, disgusting as$ pally bubble. Maybe you have a slight case in regards to classic, but you’re completely off base. Retail it was memed for years (until finally being switched in WoD I think) that you guys had the 2k Arena racials because you could equip two dps trinkets over one. That was a meme for 10 years. It’s annoying to see kids like you walk in here with no veteran experience talking trash and memeing something that completely contradicts reality and known history. There is 400k Alliance players and 300k Horde players. What favoritism are you talking about? Like fucc!ng seriously? What the fucc are you saying?
Doing this without fixing the botter problem will just spread the problem into the alliance now.
Second this.
Minor correction, only because by 1.12 AV did sadly become what it is now.
AB became the fun BG
But you are correct, for a large part of vanilla WSG was the honor grind, AV was where you went for a really cool and hard epic raid where half of the raid was human PVP players and you averaged crap for honor because it took a long time to win, but you had all kinds of fun back and forth fights over the objectives.
The reason why it’s not relevant is because they are DIFFERENT GAMES. Most or much of Classic players have nothing to do with Retail. The retail arguments are moot and irrelevant. Take those beefs up in the retail forums.
I am genuinely curious. How many alts are you posting your meltdown with at this point?
Why did you take so long to make a major change like this?
Get your act together Blizzard - doing stuff like this while people are in the thick of their first honor grind is absolutely cucked.
Where do you check your sub options anyways, its time for a review.
Dude, I ran out of reports, so I can now only give advice. The not so well disguised attempts of veiled profanity are just as actionable as the real thing.
and i though my jokes were bad…
Okay so horde got their two major requests granted, join as group and BG #'s removed from queues. So we’re not going to see anymore whining about AV right?
Are you suggesting that early version AV was not a “major request”? Because no, that is still a thing.
That hasn’t been a thing since blizzard announced they were using 1.12.
Hi Kaivax,
Let me start by saying thank you for continuing to work on Classic WoW, and for your efforts in making AV more enjoyable for the community as a whole. I’m so glad Classic is finally a thing, I’ve waited years and the wait has been worth it.
Currently, I don’t queue for AV because its simply not fun on the Alliance side, and I have more fun working on BiS lists, leveling alts, etc. I’ve read through as many comments below (both positive and negative) that I could bare and I have to say, I agree with some of things said on both ends. I’d also like to contribute to the conversation and hopefully provide some ideas for the dev team to review and consider.
- In regards to all the whining and tantrums:
I feel like this can be reduced by giving the community more opportunity to shape the game. (I’m sure you can tell where I’m going with this…) instead of implementing a change and leaving it at that, let us vote on the direction of classic! I don’t think it would be too hard to say “Hey classic community, we’re thinking of making the following changes to AV, and of these following options, which one(s) would you like to see us implement?” Maybe I have high hopes, but I think this will reduce the amount of complaining and toxicity the crybabies produce both in game and on the forums. At the very least, it makes it possible to respond with “you made your bed, now sleep in it.”
- Imbalance between Horde and Alliance participation/win rates:
Yes, I am being biased with this but I think more incentive to play AV should be given to the Alliance side. For me, the most appealing solution is to make the rep grind easier. Now, I don’t have the perfect answer to this but the first thought that comes to mind is bonus rep based on a percentage to the bonus honor received at the end of a match (I.E. 10% of your bonus honor = bonus rep). If Alliance completes a match with 2k bonus honor, they receive 200 bonus rep on top of all the rep they already earned in the match. (And since I’m sure Horde will want bonuses too, give them 1% - 5%, or something; but it needs to be less than Alliance because again, this is an incentive for Alliance.
- Diminishing returns on HK’s:
I like the idea of the diminishing returns being reduced in battlegrounds, but I do not think this change should be added to world pvp. I can only speak to the Alliance side on this, but Horde players already camp popular flight points like Thorium Point and Lights Hope; and there is always a gank squad camping out in Blackrock Mountain to pick off players moving to BRD, BRS, and MC while they wait for their BG queues. I get it, these players REALLY LIKE to pvp. Personally, I get tired of it when it takes an extra 20 minutes to run UBRS because 2 or 3 members are repeatedly spawn camped trying to enter the instance.
In closing, #nochanges has already been shattered. Lets (and I’m speaking to the community here) forge the game into something better, something we can all gain the max enjoyment from.
You may now proceed to bite my head off, or add value to my post. Thank you
TL;DR
Let us vote on changes, and give the community more power in the direction of classic.
Give Ally more incentive to play AV
Keep the 25% diminishing returns in world pvp, but not bg’s
Oh hell no.
Ok, i am alliance and even i say have you lost your mind?
The change is NOT a change, it is the removal OF a change.
10% was always the default value, they made it 25% because they perceived it may be an issue pre BG.
All they are doing now, is returning it to its historically correct value.
I haven’t experience one WSG over 40 min.
