Not really… I have a main I raid with and push elite near end of season with and any alt I have is mostly for pvp to get their 1800 armor set and maybe mythic plus a little afterwards.
I wish I had more df season 1 elite gear… six sets of fire gear isnt enough.
Nah, I have 5 capped characters, 3 are 606+ one is at like 593 and the other is 588-ish. I just play what I feel like playing. If an alt “falls behind” oh well they can stay there until I feel like playing them again lol.
Sounds like you are in the stage of hitting cap but not quite settling on a main yet… you’ll find your answer soon, I was like that a couple of months ago too.
If more than 1 character and not enough time, you’ll just have to compromise, don’t feel like you have to gear up every character to the teeth.
Yes. Between:
-A main, doing mythic raid but hating +10s most weeks, once it gets a weapon there’s barely any upgrades left to worry about and it’s prob never beating M Ovinax.
-Initial alt monk, shelved due to hating it, only needs a few more delve/event/TW vault slots to be done collecting mythic set.
-Alt mage also to collect the mythic set, going slower because nobody wants to invite casters to pug Council even if I’m only there for the crests. Vault coins will get there but need ~5 more weeks of them.
-Alt tank, reached 615 and shelved, would rather be done with the season.
-2 alt rdps/healers because I’m hating spriest rotation and mobility and do not want to touch it next season (lest there be another M Rashanan marathon fight). Don’t know which it will be though, may end up gearing all 3 hybrid casters a bit.
It’s mostly the stopping and restarting that gets on my nerves. F me for picking flawed classes right at the start, the expansion pace means there is zero chance of anything getting improved, possibly for the next 6 years. Pick FOTM, folks. It’ll be flavor of the saga when there’s no time for fixes.
Any activity in this game large or small demands a time investment to achieve.
If you’re going to present an argument then at least make a conscious effort to be correct.
What are you even talking about? When has capping out an alt not required you to play them? Additionally, who stated that it’s required to cap out every alt? Perhaps you misinterpreted my post or didn’t read fully.
Nope. I don’t really do end gaming so there’s no real balance that I have to keep. Just play what I feel like at the moment and move on. No hurry to get anywhere.
Alts are very miserable to have this expansion. You’re farming 350-450+ Runed Crests and 900+ Gilded Crests per character to do high level Mythic+. I’m completely burnt out two months in and I’m nowhere near the Harbringer of the Gilded warband discount because I’m not a Mythic raider.
i have some unsolved problems in my time/character management.
But that’s really all it is:time management. I have a huge list of priorities and I’ll never reach the end of it. So I have to sometimes make hard choices between competing goals that leave some unfinished.
I have 8 level 80’s right now and I can’t seem to motivate myself to make another. Some of it is the profession system. I just don’t want to go through it on another character right now. I mean the Acuity system as it is now. Really sucks! It is overly time gating the entire process. Just to make my first weapon on my main I needed to level and skill up professions on two other characters just to not need the AH and how overpriced it was on release.
Then to top it off, somehow my 6 day old newest alt is my second beast geared character at ilvl 612. My barrier again is the crafting profession. Really difficult to skill it up past 70 with everything requiring a spark this far into the expansion now that most people are looking for recrafts and not crafts. Maybe easily solved having recrafts also count toward skill up if the original item offered a skill up would solve that issue. Otherwise, I am stuck relying on myself and other alts to raise my profession skill. Hope this is fixed in the future.
Otherwise, I have like 40 or more other characters sitting at level 70 of many different race/class combinations on both factions.
I have so many alts that I had to make a new account and then another one because I am maxed out on toons. And I used to multibox but that was on diff accounts.
I’m at 7 with number 8 at level 77. It’s all about professions, and not having to pay through the nose for things on the AH. Two will end up being mains.
Patron orders have greatly improved crafting. I’ve done a few that the patron provided the spark, I only had to provide the mats.
You really only have to play gathering toons, engineers, and tailors. The others can stand in Dorn all expansion for now. I’m sure new recipes will be added to upcoming releases.
