Alt-codes for the name you almost got

Hi all, some brokenhearted people out and about tonight, so thought I’d share if they hadn’t known about alt codes. Google alt-codes list and it’ll be the first result. If you missed getting Jimkirk you could go like J alt-0204 mk alt-0204 rk to get JÌmkÌrk. (Probably one of the others a little more subtle, that was off the cuff. There are four for lower case I looking things.)

They could pass for a lower case I if your resolution’s not perfect. That other one that looks like a capital B but isn’t, and maybe some others that aren’t so bad. Put a halo/circle over one of your letters if you’re a priest or paladin maybe, other things like that.

FOR THE ALLIANCE!!!

Put alt-x alt-x before and after your name and it’s almost invisible.

You look like a Spanish version of me

Personal preference, but using alt codes just feels… less to me. If you are super needy to have a specific name then I understand the use of it, it just is a pain for anyone to attempt to type the name in correctly.

To me names with alt codes seem like a knock-off brand of a name.

Touche mein freund, si and konichiwa to you too!!!

Im fine with alt names unless they are over the top.

My main has an alt code, and its fine because it feels better to me than half of the other dozen alts chars i have with cleaner names.

Between clicking, right-clicking and /r what’s to type? Anyway, I just read some posts of people declaring they won’t play classic because they didn’t get their name from different threads. Figured I couldn’t possibly cause more damage if folks were skulking off already. (Though maybe someone might argue about fairness of letting certain personality types go on ahead and skulk off, maybe they’re worth saving if they’re not too picky to try some alt-codes when all else fails.)
