Indeed. A good read.
The question is are they reading it.

They are not reading anything lol.

They who? There’s no hunter developer currently. Look at the new hero talents, totemic with their 20s cd totem that does 400% attack power every 5 seconds with 100% uptime to up to 5 targets, and then you have dark arrow doing 50% attack power every 5 seconds with 100% uptime to 1 target. No changes since to that tree. Nevermind the horrible, dragon flight beta level tree that survival still has. Clearly, the janitor just slapped something together and went back to cleaning.

Black arrow is just so bad - of all hero trees that add a new ability, this is hands down the worst by far - weak, boring, unimpactful, just something you press on CD for the 10% damage.

Demolish and the new totem are infinitely better and have strong and exciting effects. Abilities you can’t wait to press while black arrow you just “maintain”

It’s like something designed 10 years ago - the opposite of what a new ability should be

Sadly the truth.

fwiw enhancement players hate totemic

While that’s true, have you seen their arguments? They don’t like that it’s doing tremors instead of tornados and that it’s going to make them take particular talents instead of the talents they wanted it to focus on. For the most part, there’s a single questionable talent in the tree they point out which increases the health of the totems by 30% which is just 1.5 hp, but they’re glazing over the fact that it’s a choice node and the radius increase to the totems is the reason to take that, not the hp increase - honestly how much stuff is killing your totems outside of pvp? They got a powerful set of talents that focuses around totems as the name suggests, but didn’t focus on the talents each person thought it might? If that’s the only complaints hunters had, most of us would be happy.

Yes, I have seen articulate arguments about how much conflict it introduces to the normal rotation and how it’s incredibly busy.

Is this not valid feedback? People on this forum complain about the dogs summoned by Dark Ranger or the Owl summoned by Sentinel.

it’s valid feedback, but not at the same level as the hunter’s feedback. Telling your car dealer that you thought you were getting the red interior lightning package and you got the blue one instead is valid feedback. When you’re comparing that to the feedback that hey, the wheels on this car are square, it just doesn’t quite hold the same value.

I’m not saying all of hunter feedback is invalid, I’m saying it’s odd to write off feedback that some people are upset about totemic using tremors instead of tornados, but not keeping that same energy when people here give the feedback about the hounds not being XYZ model or kirenaika making his 5th thread in a day about the sentinel VFX.

You’re assuming I don’t keep the same energy for those posts, which I do. The problems I’m generally posting about for hunters is the fact that survival has no baseline damage abilities, they have to buy every single dps ability they use as survival. They still have beta level % talents that increase ability A & B by 5%/10%. They have 7+ nodes that are 2 point nodes compared to most trees that barely have 1 or 2. Both of the hero talent trees weren’t designed for survival, with marksman able to stack sentinel much faster than survival (some abilities like chakram just not giving any stacks) and pack leader being based around your pet’s autoattack and kill command which for survival means a slower autoattack than beastmasters, a single target builder instead of an aoe capable spender, ect. Those are design issues, not “flavor” or “desire” issues.

I am well aware, I’ve posted about those problems extensively on every PTR feedback thread in DF and even in the TWW alpha thread here: Feedback: Hunter Updates - #7 by Ghonhir-living-flame

also, pack leader doesn’t increase kill command’s damage at all? so it doesn’t matter if it’s on a builder or an aoe capable spender

Read the first talent. It increases your next kill command by 200% attack power, which if it hits 5 targets that 200% attack power x 5. Not to mention, beast cleave makes pet autoattacks, including the guaranteed crit ones, are hitting multiple targets. I mean you can pretend that this isn’t an aoe increase for beastmaster if you want, but it surely is.

that’s not what it does. I think you should read it again. it causes a separate damage event on your next kill command. I’ve tested it in alpha. It has nothing to do with KC damage. kill cleave does not cleave vicious hunt’s damage.

Not this again.

Kill command does 200 more damage next time you press it.
Next time you press kill command, another action occurs that deals 200 damage.

It’s piling more weight onto pressing Kill Command which is already by far the most important ability to already press off CD. Do the underlying mechanics really matter at this point? Pack Leader offers nothing knew.

Also beyond Vicious Hunt, Pack Leader does directly cause KC to have a chance to trigger a second time for 30% damage. So “Pack Leader doesn’t increase KC damage at all?” is incorrect.

Also also, yes complaining about Undead Hounds and Arcane Owls is more important than complaining about Tremors verse Totems. Tremors & Totems are both generically Shaman. Arcane Owls and Undead Hounds are specifically racial, Night Elf and Undead respectively.

Did you read the discussion or did you just knee jerk respond to something you don’t understand? That person said VH has AoE capabilities. It doesn’t.

They said that after you said PL doesn’t increase KC damage, which is what I directly quoted.
Yes, to say Vicious Hunt is an AOE benefit is wrong.
What does their wrong statement have to do with your also wrong statement? And even worse, your massively deceiving implication that Pack Leader isn’t just a Hero Talent that doubles down on already existing mechanics.

Pack Leader does not increase Kill Command’s damage. If KC crits do you think VH crits? Do you know that VH doesn’t benefit from BM’s mastery?

Do you want me to record a video for you in alpha right now showing it’s a separate instance of damage? You yourself have even said Stomp doesn’t increased Barbed Shot’s damage. That’s the exact same situation.

That person said VH has AoE capabilities. I corrected them, which somehow made you angry. I am not going to respond to you further because you don’t understand how the game mechanic works and refuse to admit you were wrong.

You also ignored the rest of my argument, but once I found out who you were, I don’t care anymore lol. Without access, the interpretation could read either way I suppose, usually they say it does a separate attack instead of just saying kill command does the damage, but really it’s another attack doing the damage.
