Changes are up on Wowhead. Massive BDK and Unholy changes are posted. Thought we could start a thread.

Blood

  • Consumption is Empowered.
  • No more Tombstone/Bonestorm.
  • DRW can now proc from consuming a rune.
  • Gorefiends grasp doesnt need 2 talents but now its a choice node.
  • Death Strike now can cleave.
  • Bloodmist?
    Different pathing overall. Way to early to tell what to take.

Unholy

  • Festering Strike looks like its now automatically talented. Outbreak is back as first talent point.
  • #DeleteWounds
  • Talent Tree shuffled
  • Perma pet Raise Dead gone from tree (Most likely automatically talented)

Class

  • No Soul Reaper
  • Wraith Walk now talent with March of Darkness
  • Sacrificial Pact is gone
  • Cleaving strikes dont show Heart Strike cleave?

In terms of gameplay it looks better. No more degen craving of burning Bone Shield charges, Swarming Mist back, DRW as an actual cooldown, Consumption actually doing SOMETHING, baseline GG silence, and apparently an intent to reduce our healing a bit and bake in baseline defensiveness.

Still compared too what others got lookin mid.

Removing Plaguebringer is a little be sad to me, I enjoyed the maintenance and having VP do a ton of damage. But the other changes look solid. I have yet to actually read them beyond a quick glance.

It just seems like they’re going in more on the summoner than they are diseases, and the disease builds were my favorite. But I see them mention master of diseases still so, I’m probably missing something.

But at face value, color me excited.

I dunno about that. Have you looked at Protadin’s changes? lol

It’s becoming more of a maintenance ability now via Festering Scythe.

" * Festering Scythe is now a capstone talent and has been updated – Festering Strike now follows up with Festering Scythe.

  • Festering Scythe: Slashes through all enemies within 14 yards in front of you, dealing Shadow damage and hastening all of your Plagues on targets hit to deal damage 35% faster for 20 seconds."

No raid buff still.

Blood dk changes are decent, but still needs work imo.

Unholy changes look really fun. I can’t wait to test. Can finally dive into that necromancer fantasy.

Not sure what I am more excited for, no wounds dk or devourer dh.

I’d be surprised if DK gets one at this point, or at least anytime soon.

Just feels like they’re very reluctant to do it, and while it’s frustrating I can somewhat understand why (if Grip continues to maintain its relevance from this season).

I think the core intent is working there- Bone Shield should not have become an extra resource to manage with cooldowns and Blood needs baseline defensiveness instead of constant major spike healing. Looks like they’re trying to bring it around to VDH’s style of sustain.

It looks really fun.

Devourer looks interesting. Think I want to see more about the class changes and how Havoc and Vengeance pan out before I settle though, because between my DK now looking like an actual fun main again and several classes seeing changes I’ve wanted for a while, I’m really torn on DH having a guaranteed spot now.

I guess we will see. They changed hunter’s mark to a straight 3% raid damage amp now at all times.

Side note the updated UH pvp talents are really cool
Hopefully they look at the dk general tree more.

It looks like some real potential, for sure. I will reserve final judgement until I get my hands on it. Though I am more than a little disappointed and confused with Apocalypse removal, considering the direction they seem to be going.

Operation: #DeleteWounds was a resounding success.

Also, as a Frost main, the new Frost Strike and Obliterate tooltip leads me to believe that we might see a completely weapon agnostic Frost spec, no more DW vs 2H drama.

Excited for all the Blood dk changes but this one. I’m not a fan of empowered abilities. It’s slows down the rotation. As a tank, am I supposed to just take hits while empower?

It feels like they nuked Unholy Endurance to give us this “empowered ability.”

I’m really hoping it does not make to live.

I’ve been looking at some of the alpha gameplay for unholy and I am really loving it.

It’s basically what I’ve been hoping for and more.

RIP DW Frost I guess. The Frostbane Shattering Blade tweak is not nearly enough to move the needle. Frostbane might be desirable for PvP but for PvE Frostbane will still be dead for ST. Absolutely baffled by what the devs are thinking at this point.
