Almost 4 days played... 214 ilvl

I finally got all my conquest gear. 214 ilvl… Honor grind is absurd. Have 220 unlockable but still need about 15k more honor to reach that.

93 hours played by the way… I don’t get how this is acceptable. Like… I’ve had 9 days off between jobs and I won’t even hit 220 and this is basically what I’ve been doing the entire time.

in MoP/WoD I could casually gear an alt over the weekend and be good to go

Blizzard is actually so dumb when it comes to this I swear. It’s like they have no idea how many people (myself included) that will watch a streamer like Cdew play demo or an AWC game or just be in a BG or something and see someone tearing it up and having fun and they want to do the same. But instead of logging in, leveling their character, and looking forward to getting their bg gear then working on conquest and learning and enjoying the character they’re working on the person just stops at the character select screen realizing all of the covenant/15x over honor grinds/500 arena games with an ilvl of 200 or below they will have to play while getting obliterated by anyone that even looks at them funny and they never try. And they just log out. And they play another game. Yet somehow they actually believe this is good for their time played metrics. Unbelievable honestly.

So much potential just waiting for their customers to dig into yet they just aren’t allowed. They are constantly working on new “content” when most players would be happy to do the exact same content from a different perspective (different class). They could effectively have 12x the “content” they do now with no extra work required if they’d just let players access it on alts. This is just unbelievable to me at this point lol. Rant over.

I remember hitting 100 on an alt in WoD and being stoked to queue bgs and get some honor gear. Didn’t care about rating, just wanted to play all the classes and try em…because I fkn could. Unlike now.

This is why I always end up ultimately deciding against buying the last few expansions now. I watch all the arena players, consistently, then eventually get close enough to maybe pull the trigger, then research the gear/system grinds and everything else and immediately nope out. As much as I want to play some specs in retail, I know it’ll never be worth it. The time sink to catch up with all the new systems is too much now. I’ll never get to play the game how I want in a nice timely fashion.

It just looks like they won’t revert to cata/mop/wod gearing bc that would be admitting those simpler systems were better than their 500 iq new formulae.

I’m only at 1 day played on my priest, to think after doing the same crap 3 more times some folks are still only at 214… yea I think I’ll just watch some weeb stuff.

Yeah, I’d love to experience an alt or two in PVP without quitting working and sleeping

I agree that the amount of time it takes to gear a character is insane. And it’s not fun to play when you’re just getting deleted by everyone else.

I wish I had that kind of free time to grind gear. I don’t know how they expect people with only 1-2 hours per night to gear in a reasonable amount of time, especially when it means coordinating schedules with others. Weekends are about the only “free” time I get, and even then they’re consumed with various other activities.

As someone else stated, it was feasible to gear toons in MoP/WoD within a weekend or over the course of a week or so, and that was pretty fair - not to mention, it kept people actually playing the game and queuing.

I think the worst part of it is that the vast majority of 3v3 players are completely devoid of how to arena. I watch specs I main flounder around cluelessly, completely unaware of what is going on. I’ve had one chain CC on me stopped in the 150+ games I’ve played, and defensive use is nonexistent.

I wish it was an exaggeration but it simply isn’t. The caliber of player at this rating I am sure eats cereal with a fork, plows their driveway with a rake, and got held back in 2nd grade. https://imgur.com/a/xsSBF3x

Nit-picking here, but a fork is a valid (and even optimal) utensil for some cereals.

At this point, I’d take back Legion gearing and system. I remember being able to immediately hit max level and jump into content. The only thing you were behind on was your neck and while it was a hindrance, you were at a disadvantage not like you’re playing 10 levels lower.
