Almost 20 Years Now, And We Still Don't Have

It’s not about just making a toy that puts you out of combat. Someone here noted that even after they vanished they were still stuck in combat, hunters have pointed out after feign death, still stuck in combat.

Making a toy that has a similar effect might not fix the issue, they need to find out why we get stuck in combat, look into the actual issue instead of just making a band aid solution that does not always work.

So yeh, they need to recode how the game works based on why players get stuck in combat so any fix will work, just making a toy that mimics a rogues vanish, that does not always work, is not a solution.

And given how little the combat bug affect people, with the easiest solution to get out of combat is just to hearth, they will never truly fix it, the amount of time to find out exactly why we get stuck, even for some rare cases of logging out, is just not worth the time, effort and cost to fix.

Until enough of the player base raises this issue and it starts affecting streamers and players who raid, do M+ and PVP, they will never fix it because finding the issue and recoding the game to fix it, is just not worth the effort when there is a real solution that is already in place, changing zones.

Well, they argue that giving everybody a feign death would be a bad thing, so…

I’m fine with the “kill your character without durability loss” rather than a feign death, to be honest.

Has anybody ever flat out died, rezzed and were still in combat?

Can’t you just force yourself to log out for ten seconds and then come back?

There is a combat bug in the academy. If you kill a critter on the tree boss area it goes away.

But in the overworld i’ve encountered this and just forced myself to log out.

Just mimic FD. Ive never ever had FD fail to get me out of combat when the bug hits, precisely why I changed to Hunter main this time around. Sick of the bug. loll

I just got tired of it and ignored the other one. Not worthy of my day being wasted with bad posts.

The reason I said FD is I do know suicide victims. I know suicidal people. I fully comprehend why a suicide weapon in game isnt appropriate.
So name it ‘Faking My Own Death’ if they need to, lol.
Just get it done so classes without a tool for this bug have one.

I have somehow only encountered the stuck in combat bug with seemingly nothing around 2x in the 16 years ive played wow

Trying to think if Reincarnation has ever left me in combat after dying. Cant think of anything off hand.

which confirms its a bug. You clearly play the same content we do. Kill and loot the same things we do. And for some reason some of us have been hit with it more times in an hour than you claim youve ever seen it happen

Maybe who knows, I was surprised today to learn that a rogue using vanish did not take them out of combat.

I was stuck in combat in Zaralek until I realized a totem, from a Djaradin fight, was keeping me.

I was like…let me go! I wants to fly away!

One of the things I’ve found causing this is being near where NPCs are fighting eachother (even though I don’t do anything to get aggro intentionally). I’ve cleared my bug several times by going back and murdering the NPCs.

Well I wasn’t saying that it doesn’t exist

No, sorry. didnt mean to sound like you were. Your response just pretty much confirms the idea that this is a bug, not intentional…otherwise it’d happen all the time in the specific circumstances it should happen in.

That its rare and erratic confirms its a bug, not a design feature.

I’d think that the Support Article of how to fix it would say that it’s not an intended feature, but apparently that is lost on some people lol

LOL…you’d think it’d be that obvious to all.
Evidently not.

Stop scaring the critters and you won’t have this problem

Try reading the thread next time, that was already addressed.

But if you really insist:

It’s not always critters. sometimes it’s mobs stuck inside of terrain, sometimes it’s mobs refusing to forget about you even though you didn’t even touch them.

Sometimes it is invisible mobs that you can’t see or touch.

Sometimes it’s a debuff that keeps you in combat during its entirety even though it’s not supposed to.

Lots of things can cause it.

The did create a toy that could get you out OoC, then nerfed it into the ground instead of making it a practical (open-world, non-pvp) use item.

I just have one question. Were you playing, today, and get stuck in combat.
