hey everyone, post is simple enough, I made a horde alt on moonguard even though I primarily have ally on here, im trying to try to spike the population of horde on the server but I can’t help but feel like my attempts are pointless, I really don’t like the WRA community so much that i’ve already made a post on here about it a while back about it. I have friends who made alts on here as well. just sucks that WRA is seen as the “Whelp horde goes here” and MG as “Alliance goes here”
I think if cross faction guild are a thing a lot of people will be able to cross faction RP more easy and even more just do any other guild activities like PVE content, raid content and so much more. i just really hope MG horde can each how it used to be.
These used to be 1/2 1/1 realms that are extremely horde dominated and alliance dominated because of it…

Perhaps in the new expansion more will come. Though I am fine with the population. Why I moved from WRA. Prefer the smaller community. Plus the RP is so much better. Walk up RP isn’t like MG-A though you do have some in the evenings. Mostly guild based though have joined the Coalition discord get notices when events are taking place.

I have hopes for cross-faction grouping and maybe it will continue to progress with future expansions. I love working with horde groups. I find them way easier and nicer OOC to work with and ICly way more accepting of things that are not just doll house RP. I love adventure, not standing in Stormwind. But I love my Sefi so I can’t get rid of her.

I just hate how it’s seen as WRA is for horde RP and MG is for alliance RP its killing off communities forcing people to migrate, I for one had to go to WRA and I can assure you the WRA community for Horde RP is no where as relaxed and welcoming as the MG community is. WRA has a reputation for having a gate keeping community a reputation that it lived up to, now not everyone is like this but its enough to prove the stereotype.
Really hope that Moonguard can get more of a horde population I made a nightborne mage on there and if its not for guild RP and guilds for PVE there isn’t much there sadly, unless cross faction guilds are a thing.
I don’t see a large future for getting the Horde Pop on moonguard to each its full potential.
According to some sites its about 93% alliance 7% horde, I love the horde race’s but I’m not fond of the WRA community I wish one day I can have all my toons on moonguard for moonguard is my home server.

These numbers are inaccurate, it isn’t that bad. But even if it was, quality > quantity!

I wouldn’t count on those sites being accurate due to /who being very, very broken to begin with and that’s what they used to take accurate information on server populations.
Moon Guard Horde’s population is growing, that much is undeniable and as things grow, more walk up RP and the like will continue to flourish.

As far as I understand the site collects data from guilds, so its a total of guild members counted up to give a “total” of alliance vs horde players on realms. My issue is I don’t want to get involved and dedicated to a community of horde on such a small population server I’d be really upset if it died out, I had this issue on a classic realm and just to be totally squished out by one side sucks really badly, I played on a 50-50 server just for it to be alliance dominated yanno?

And what site is that? Because you just told me it counts a lot of characters, not players. My guild shows 94, and I can tell you I have 43 accounts in my guilds because I cap us at 45 as it is comfortable to maintain for our events, and people can have as many alts as they want as long as they are logged in every 15 days. I know many alliance guilds that are just people with 20+ alts in eachothers guilds.
And let us not forget the guilds with 500 members that maybe 10 have logged on in the last 6 months but refuse to purge a roster.
I think you are not seeing the forest for the trees and getting way too hung up on some weird numbers on some website that makes no sense in accounting for the population.
Morisstel, for someone that “doesn’t want to get involved” you sure are making quite a few posts on this subject.
I’ve been playing on Moon Guard Horde for over 4 years now and I’ve seen nothing but steady improvement in that time. Have a little faith. We have great people here. Crying about what it used to be 10 years ago isn’t going to help much. Let’s be grateful for what we have and make the most of it.
People are slowly drifting here because of the unique experience. Moon Guard has an amazing community, and people like Jabtrah, Mirchea, Banshih and Corta have been working their butts of for YEARS to get where we are. They deserve credit for all they’ve done to credit a welcoming, inclusive community.
Oh, and repeating phrases that you don’t like only reinforces them, FYI. I suggest repeating a more positive mantra. Like say, Moon Guard Horde rocks!

Gonna just, plop this in here:
(As you can see, MG-H is far from dead.)

It’s closer to 83/17, which isn’t much better. That’s also with (roughly) an active contingent of about 77K players.
As stated many times in previous threads, the numbers quoted for server population are -HIGHLY- inaccurate. MG Horde is in fact active and thriving, and I place it around 35% of the server pop, and growing.

I don’t understand how debating over statistics really proves anything. Anyone could be right or wrong, no one really knows.
The question we should be asking is, “when I play my Moon Guard Horde characters, can I find other people with whom I can have fun with?”
If the answer is yes, then problem solved. Whether you have 20 people to do walk up RP with, or 1000 people, what does it really matter? Sometimes the most interesting and engaging conversations can be with someone you might not have chosen specifically. Less choice can sometimes mean you try something new.
Personally, I don’t sit there with a calculator working out how many people are online on each side of the fence before engaging another player. If you need to justify talking to someone with a number, then it’s likely that social anxiety is the real issue.
All you need for interaction is one other person.

Even if any of those numbers were true there is no way of knowing which among those are active RPers. There are plenty of people in both factions who simply do not RP. In either faction once you find your group you are golden. Look through the forums for guilds to join or maybe try the discord lists. There is a community out there for everyone.

Or a Horde Proxy for your Ally Character!
Simply add a magic charm with an illusionary effect to your TRP and viola… Your Dreanei now looks like a Blood Elf and you can wonder around Orgrimmar! Just make sure your character is smart enough to stick to their disguise, otherwise you might be escorted from the city time after time.
Stupid toes… Can’t help it I keep wiggling them constantly. They feel weird!
OH, and make sure you can speak Orcish pretty good too… they catch on pretty quick when you say things like “Orca Ork Or Dorka Dork” . . . sighs in frustration

I am thinking about starting a Horde Char on this server because of this thread. My worgen alt is looking for a nice pelt and the OP’s will suffice

With how things have been going and how things have been handled by Blizzard these past couple of years, I dropped my sub.
However, since Blizzard has been sold (again), I’m willing to give the game another try later on.
My fiance feels the same. I’m sure others are kinda in the same boat, which is part of the problem MG is experiencing right now.
Too many people burned too many times. But maybe, just maybe, they’ll come back for a new expan/major thing under the new holder of Blizzard.
I’m hoping to come back though. I’ve been playing this stupid game since vanilla and spent a great deal of time on MG. Met my fiance on this server as well. Good memories to be had. I miss RPing with people and killing people who run into a major city. So hopefully things can turn around soon and some better choices can be made.

I seen you lurking! And not just in this forum.
Even though (to my knowledge) we’ve not role played together, you’ve been a steady presence and supporter of Moon Guard Horde, Ushi. Hope you and that deader can return some day.
I’m playing Classic because I have no care for the current story but some day I may be a boomerang MG kid again.
Hello. I am Darvile.

Let’s go exploring!
edit - I’ve been thinking about boosting a horde rogue, or faction changing and boosting a human rogue. /shrug. Not sure.
