Didn’t YouTube ditch the star system in favor of Like/Dislike?
Not everyone is capable of doing higher tier M+'s and Raids , no matter how good they think they are.
The problem WITHOUT something like RIO is you risk my key and my time because I get in a group with somebody who doesn’t understand the affixes or mechanics.
The end result is I waste a key, have to rerun to restore it, and lose my time and potential upgrades.
I am all for helping folks, but everyone has a skill plateau. Some are willing to admit this, others are stubborn and won’t. Tools like RIO help us know for sure.
Example:
This week I have a 12 Seth. Now if you look me up in Rio you will see I failed my last 12. So this would be a risky run without 4 other top tier players for me. However, you can see that I have 2 and 1 chested 11’s consistently for Seth, in addition to doing alot of other content in the 10-14 range. That does NOT mean I am at that level in every dungeon though.
I would not be offended if I didn’t get into a 12 Seth. I would also understand why people would not want to go. I accept this. I haven’t done anything above a 14 this season. Why would anyone think I could do a 16, 18, or even 20 if I have no experience with those?
I know the media has brainwashed folks into thinking we should all be equal in all ways, but in reality we are not. You can’t expect everyone to have the same ability to play a game, life just doesn’t work that way. When you make the assumption that we are all equal something generally goes terribly wrong when you then depend on others who are not working at the same level.
Yeah, no. Handing players the ability to hand out positive or negative feedback on other players is a bad idea.
Says the Demon Hunter, the other of Gods Chosen golden gods for M+ and RIO in general.
Have you actually met our community? Just No! Never!
You would get bad Karma because people didn’t like your TMOG, your Name, or that you types in chat during a run. Just so many things could go horribly wrong with this.
Unlike these forums, they do not police the LFG system in WOW.
Now I need to look up that thread on abuse handling. Be right back.
It was this thread: "Karma" System done right
And it got zero support.
Eh, I used a like on it. Not entirely wrong, but somewhat.
m+ isnt meant for pugs its meant for groups on coms.raider io is more meant to make m+ pugable for players since there is no que imo.
dont get me wrong i wish blizzard would ban raider io but thats what its for to make m+ pugable for people.
The Original Post calls for a queue option for Premade Groups in addition to the existing interface.
One like isn’t support.
Shrug
i know and i called for m+ to be a que system months ago and got shot down by this community.
it wont happen tho blizzard wants their m+ esport to remain what it is.
The hardest content should not reward the best gear. It should be a spectator sport only.
I am a heavy advocate against the current “Hard Content or Die” system since WOD, back when it was “Raid or Die”.
(One idea to combat the current perception of the system is mixing both JP/VP with TF and Tertiaries/Socket/Etc.)
hmm
I literally never encounter anyone commenting on my rio. I get denied from groups plenty and you can assume many of the rejections are due to rio, but it’s not like anyone insults me over it, they just don’t invite me.
I think you’re trying to dramatize some behavior which either rarely happens or doesn’t happen at all. It might happen on the forums, but that’s a bit different, and doesn’t tend to bleed over to the game so much.
My experience is mirrored by most of the people I play with. I think the fear of being judged is far worse than the reality of it. Your mileage may vary.
I also don’t feel like i’m entitled to have access to someone else’s key, though, so maybe that’s a factor. I never get mad at being rejected, although I do get amused somewhat when I do a 10 nearly every week and can’t get in a 7 pug, but it’s their key and they take the risk.
Rio isn’t to put a number on skill, either, it’s to put a number on experience.
This isnt a thing. Nothing is locked behind mythic content. The WQ gear will gain you access to every aspect of this game. Its dropping 385 gear for me, thats normal raid gear for taking 2 minutes to fill a bar. Never in the history of the game has higher level gear fallen from the skies for such trivial content
average ilvl is an objective representation of your characters cumulative stat budget. A m+ experience score is pretty subjective – there’s many roughly equiv ways to do it with very different ways of scoring.
There’s also no real reason, since m+ and raids are primarily designed for organized groups. If you want to pug them, then organization trends are up to the community to establish.
Designing the karma system such that it’s only possible to give players positive marks would remove a lot of toxicity potential. If you have a bad experience with someone, you wouldn’t give them a black mark, you just wouldn’t give them any karma.
Then you have friends artificially inflating each other’s karma. Maybe you’ll have to only be able to give karma once per season to a given player. However, I don’t think a karma system is worth it, tbh.
Kind of. 425, the TF cap, doesn’t drop for Azerite or Weapons.
Then why does it need to exist if everyone will have positive “grades” from their peers?
