Allied race requests; Some of these don't make sense

If you didn’t know what San’layn were then your opinion is invalid.

San’layn are pretty much gone lorewise. On my server, every person that RPs as a San’layn is pretty obnoxious and has a very loose grasp on the lore. People just want to be vampires.

Top of my list is Gilgoblins. Don’t like them and would not play one if we got them unless they decked them out with some good racials like the Alliance AR’s got. And even then I probably would not play them.

But I am of the belief that every player should be able to play the race they enjoy/want the most. If that includes Gilgoblins, San’layn, Saurok, Ogres, etc. then so be it. It’s subjective to which race makes sense. Lore wise I am not so sure but you can normally twist things to fit your narrative on how they came to be AR’s.

I think they have a missing Blood Prince so there is that. Plus, there very well could be some holdouts under Ice Crown in the Nerubian tunnels from the WotLK. Blizz lore sucks and has gaps so never know. Plus, only like 25 - 30 years have past since Classic from what I’ve heard/read.

And I never got Ogres so we still don’t have what I want. I’d gladly give you Alliance BE’s for them.

I’ve wanted Ogres since I found out about WoW and was seriously disappointed we got BE’s instead of Ogres. I left before MoP because we got Pandas instead of Ogres. Was gone from 2011 till about 2017. Still won’t understand no playable Ogres for Horde to this day. They are a core race.

To each their own.

Nah. High elves I kind of understand because they are an elf archetype and look like the most played race in the game and many people who like elves wanted something like that with the alliance aesthetic and values. Plus the silver convanent has been long and closely allied with the alliance. Its why I understand why many have requested them.

Didn’t know this. Thx for the info.

Just curious. If you don’t like them and wouldn’t play them, why are they the top of the list?

If you didn’t know what San’layn were then your opinion is invalid.

When you are someone who almost exclusively hangs out in game, instead of the forums its easy for a race like sanlayn to seem like one of many hundreds of thousands of races in wow that may or may not have a following.

You can argue all kinds of things that are wrong.

Are you sure though? It may seem easy to think that right now because sethrak sort of seem to stand on their own, but if you put them beside many other potentially popular reptilian requests then you may find they are rather nice. They are anthropomorphized cobras which is actually a very niche compared to something like a dragon or saurok or many other potential reptilian designs. You see part of the reason why a lot of people don’t like mechagnomes is because they seem very poor compared to other kinds of cyberborgs many do like. Mechagnomes nicheness comes from their being these sort of unnatural creations that build their cybernetics from what could be considered very crude methods. Their design has appeal to a certain niche. I think sethrak are similar in when it comes to reptilian races.

Completely, yes. Sethrak are awesome.

I’m just yanking your weapon chain man.

Ogres make more sense than BEs but that’s a whole different thing.

Tbh Sethrak and Saberon wouldn’t be a bad addition lol, Sanlayn would be interesting as well.

And skinny Kultiran I really wanted that.

It’d be horrible for the game to let people customize their characters with visuals/races they enjoy. It’d only increase revenue and help the game in the long run! Why would we want that?!

/sarcasm

Letting people play the races they want would be great.
There’s a ton that would be great additions including every one of the ones in the OP as well as many others.

We need a dev team dedicated to customizations of every sort. Players would be thrilled.

I’d love to see the Horde get Leper Gnomes.

And for fun … Murlocs!

Given that its been a request for some years this ones not that far out there. That they did assist the Horde in BfA was a perfectly fine time to possibly add them and could still use that same angle to add them going forward.

Mostly and this will be for most of them, folk want to play em. Why not?

They technically joined the Horde back in Wrath, and again many folk want to play them. Their culture is considerably different to the Tauren of Mulgore and if the HMT were good enough so too are the Taunka.

Many on the Alliance really want the Sethrak to join them. I, am among them, though I’d prefer a neutral Sethrak.

I have no issues with the Saurok, and highly doubt the Dragons themselves would ever pick a side… not really their thing.

I’m not sure why you think the Sethrak are the mechagnomes of the reptiles?

Then again I love my mechagnomes so…

Eh who cares? The Saberon came across from the Alternate Draenor along with the Mag’har and folk want to play em.

Why not?

The Night Elves have been allied for eons with them, though those mostly fell apart before WoW launched due to corrupting powers. The Horde and Alliance made allies of Furbolg during vanilla.

Also the Draenei became allies with a group of Furbolg on Azuremyst Isle when they landed. So much so that one of their shaman trainers was a Furbolg.

All these races are perfectly fine requests, and not immensely out of the doable range. Its fine if you don’t see it, but folk want em. Why not add em?

Horde players haven’t seen a Sanlayn since Wrath, when they were wiped out.

Who says they were wiped out? They obviously weren’t if they showed up in BFA.
Think it was said one of the princes was also missing from the pre-shadowlands event in Icecrown.

Yeah really wonder why Blizzard decided to keep that part from the Horde… given that Rokhan knew about it clearly, you’d think it would have been mentioned to the Horde’s ambassador to the Zandalari. lol

And, no they were not wiped out. Their big three leaders and their queen were killed. Theres a ton of them otherwise.

They didn’t show up in BFA. At least for Horde players.

So their bona fides as an allied race for Horde are pretty much zero.

You guys can have them as an Alliance allied race, if you want.

Look at the races we have now.

Human=/=Kul’tiran
Dwarf=/=Dark Iron
Nelf=/=Velf
Gnome=/=robognome
spacegoat=/=spacegoat with gold eyes

Orc =/= desert orc
moomoo with horns =/= moomoo with antler
tuskyboi =/= just more tuskybois
generic elf=/=dark generic elf
Gobo=/=furrygobo

So we have wogans and undead without an allied counterpart. So they are likely the next allied races, possibly lightforged undead and dunno for wogans.

Personally though i think we would get NEW races before we see more allied ones
