Allied race requests; Some of these don't make sense

So there is many allied race requests I’ve seen that I just thought to myself. Why are people even asking for this? It doesn’t make sense. Here is a few that I don’t understand.

  1. Sanlayn

I didn’t even know what this race was until I came to the forums and I found out because there was some people saying Sanlayn was datamined as potential allied race or something and this “Dataming” was simply people saying that sanlayn were helping the horde and in bfa and there was a sanlayn model which seemed like it was grasping it straws to be honest and given the history of ARs we weren’t going to get another elf as an AR anytime soon.

  1. Taunka.

How exactly are these guys relevant to today and how exactly would they be unique in any way to tauren?

  1. Sethrak.

Come on. Lets be honest. Nobody wants the alliance to be infested with snakes except for the horde. And why this race we could have a really cool reptilian race like saurok or dragons? I could argue that Sethrak are the mechagnomes of reptilian race requests.

  1. Saberon.

Okay. This request honestly just seem very random. Since when have we been in good terms with saberon?

  1. Furblogs

Again. Seems kind of random. I don’t recall us being in good terms with any furblogs

Of course if you have any answer to any of these statements please tell me. I will keep an open mind.

How rude. No milk for you.

Tauren are hot milk mamas, Taunka are soy milk step-mothers.

How were Dark Iron Dwarves relevant in BFA?
How were Highmountain Tauren any different to regular Tauren?

You’re all the same. Highmountain Tauren are hot milk daddies with antlers, Tauren are hot milk mamas. Get it right, milk consumers!

You want more elves, cows, and weird snake men but don’t even bring up ogres?

Pfff.

People have always requested odd races. But the idea of allied races and BfA adding so many of them in short order kind of opened Pandora’s Box. It seemed like Blizz was making so much more than usual so everything under the rainbow now has a chance to be playable.

Which totally isn’t true and the majority of requests will never happen, but it doesn’t stop the speculation. Many races just look cool and they have fans who want to play them, regardless of what the story says about the situation. That’s all the reasoning about it.

There’s no way that a Taunka could ever make milk as delicious as mine.

I suppose. Now that I think about it Dark irons did seem kind of random. Didn’t they used to be the bad guys?

They joined the rest of Ironforge and formed the Council of 3 Hammers. They’ve been part of the Alliance since Cataclysm.

Alright. That seems like a solid point. I am seeing more why people might consider taunka.

Yup, they’re in the exact same position as the Dark Iron. Officially part of the Horde since Wrath.

In the same way void elves look nothing at all like blood elves, or that mechagnomes are have any similarities to regular gnomes in terms of model and stuff. heck, even vulpera have the same models as goblins do.

Dark iron dwarvs are dwarfs just with a differet backstory and history, but the model is that of a regular dwarf.

Yah if you have done the cross transbora quest into dragonblight, you will know that the taunka are left without a home, and are left to joining and regrouping with the horde. Pretty awesome quest line actually. One of the best in game.

You sure this isn’t one of those"You think you want it, but you don’t" situations?

Any race that isn’t playable will get someone to say, “Why can’t we play as that race?!” and then they’ll proceed to scower the internet for every single possible bit of information to justify their reasoning for adding them to the game.

No doubts there.

BFA is still looking like a better xpac than SL currently on Allied Races alone.

San’layn had one of - if not their actual - remaining leader killed off in Alliance quests. It’s been a long time since I did it, but that pretty much was the “lol not getting it” that Horde can put up with. They can handle not getting something they ask for every once in a while.

I’ve asked for a lot for both factions. I don’t see why BE and VE don’t share customization options. We are literally the same race and can speak to each other.

I think there’s a lot more lazy backburner plays blizz does instead of just listening to the community.
