Saberon will likely be a Horde-race.
Void elves say hello lol. So do Nightborne.
Also, the Dracâthyr model is just the DH metamorphosis skeleton. They re-use stuff all the time. And I donât think faction alignment is really going to matter much going forward, if the Dark Ranger customizations are anything to go by.
So⌠Tauren? I donât think they have anywhere near the same approach to that lol
Besides, Arrakoa have a whole Light/Void morally grey balance thing going on that would fit in perfectly with the Alliance and the balance there that is shaping up to be an integral part of its story with Turalyon and Alleria leading the way. And like I said earlier, their theme of a rigidly structured society also I feel fits in better with the Alliance.
I am in agreement there.
While most Saurok do appear to be feral brutes, there are signs of them evolving and becoming more of a sentient species. This includes:
-Being guests in a temple in MoP without causing problems, as well as engaging in friendly combat.
-Working with other races as part of a pirate crew in BfA.
-Being in an underwater bar and mingling with others. Even letting a Dwarf roar playfully at them.
-Hunters having a close bond with their pets.
-At least one tribe in one of the dungeons has developed a sense of honor, as stated in the in-game dungeon journal.
-Being part of a discussion in Maldraxxus as a spirit with spirits of other races.
It seems like theyâve been evolving if theyâre able to work with other races, even if it is as pirates, or are able to at least mingle with others. Far from being mindless, Iâd say. Not like they all instantly try to eat the faces of people they meet.
I mean, Gilgoblins were once low intelligent mooks who obsessed with shinies, and then we saw them evolve into the Kelfin who were smarter and had new personalities. Theyâre also a great candidate as a playable race. There are other examples, Iâm sure, so I donât see why Saurok would be an exception.
As for factions, while they donât have any particular connections to either, their backstory of being former slave soldiers to the Mogu echoes quite a bit of what Orcs went through. They really seem like they would fit with the Hordeâs theme. Especially considering their culture.
I could go on and on, but I have a megathread with much more info for those interested. Just trying to show how they can be more than mindless mooks is all.
Interesting.
Canât say I ever paid that much attention to them, but that does make them much, much more viable as a playable race. That said, would they add Saurok as well as Sethrak? If its one or the other, I think we know which race players would want.
Why not go all the way in pleasing the âhuman variants are boringâ crowd and put in 6-dimensional noncorporeal energy beings or playable slimes? Sethrak are small potatoes in terms of non-humanness in comparison.
Slimes are OP.
Give me Vorkai though. Iâd love to play one of them.
Why ppl keep calling then Sethakk?!
The real name is âDanger Noodlesâ.
If weâre going that route, then why are the forest cats all in the desert?
They have a cool name or are know as Deser Catz?!
I fail to see why we would only have one or the other. Theyâre quite different in culture, personality, and themes. Not to mention that one would be snake men and the other lizard men. There is no logical reason to exclude one because the other became playable.
I mean, we have so many flavors of elves, dwarves, and so on, I donât see why reptilian races would be an exception. Moreso when there is quite the contrast between Saurok and Sethrak. Both could become playable and be completely difference experiences in storylines and gameplay.
Each have unqiue features to add to the table and would add quite a bit of flavor to that character creation screen. Even when compared to Dracthyr. I say we need some more reptiles on that character creation screen!
i always enjoy your contributions and lore knowledge. if weâre looking at the race options, both factions have some glaringly absent options for a high fantasy game - et.al, fairies, halflings, ogres and vampires.
Sethrakkky snekekekeke i do olike snaks the slivery and slime around hehe
I like the viking/barbarian vibe. A lot of people do. Kul tirans, while big and burly, arenât that. Theyâre like rough and ready sea-faring people. Real salty dogs.
As they should.
I think itâs good that the vrykul-valarjar join the alliance, Iâm not saying it because they are giant humans, but because they are an elite force, great opportunity to get to know a lot about them. You can also bring dragons and the famous vrykul paladins
Then add them as human customization options or something.
Alliance desperately needs more interesting races and I would consider it an enormous waste if we just got more humans.
Iâd take that quite happily. Better beards and tattoos for everyone!
holy hell. if there was ever a reason to swap to alliance, its that race alone then.
Added female vrykuls and queen vrykuls-valarjar is a retribution paladin
They could remove the female KT model, which looks like a pear on toothpicks, and replace it with the female vrykul model.
