I am not someone delusional enough to believe that 100% win rate across a spread population indicates anything other than imbalance. I won every single AV today easily. BRM horde dominated. Something needs to be done. Even if it’s one way faction changes from horde → ally.

nah. in p3 allies were farming the living 
of low level horde players in incursions. 1-2 raids of lvls 50’s ganking non stop. This is what we fell during p3. Now, suck it up and move on.

Playing on a PVP server in Phase 4 is a joke. Literally, this is the worst experience I’ve ever had in any game, of any genre.
Retail moved on to War Mode because World PVP was a garbage mini-game that wastes time. People feel compelled to play PVP servers because that’s usually where their friends play. I’m waiting literally 20min just play the game with my friends while they corpse-run. Literally 1v20, at best, is not “PVP happened on a PVP server” – it’s a game design failure.
World PVP was trash in 2004 and it’s trash in 2024. FF14 has better PVP gameplay loop than SOD.

Nothing to be done tbh. Its over. Been over since back in P3 in fact. The damage is done, SoD is over.
Oh sure it’ll continue another six or so months for the small percentage of people still playing it, but for more than 90% of the players who gave SoD a try, its finished. Time to wait for the next iteration that hopefully learns from SoD’s mistakes tbh.
I tried to fool myself into thinking P4 would be a revitalization, but nah. Nobody I played P1 and P2 with came back. I leveled to 60 alone and the next highest level in my 250+ player guild is 51.
The hype is dead. Faction balance is dead. There’s no fixing it at this point because the problem is inherently based on player populations. Most players have quit. More Alliance than Horde quit or transferred to Wild Growth.
It took me the last three days of steadily leveling to 60 to accept it, but I think I’ll be happier no longer playing SoD. And so will most other people as well. Was fun while it lasted.
Squire Dalton Cuthbert was cool though. Best part of Phase 4 by far.

Sir, SOD couldn’t even learn from vanilla’s successes, a game that was ~85% perfect as it was. Anything in the future is absolutely not going to learn from SOD’s mistakes lol

lesson one: don’t try to just “wing it” lmao go in with an actual plan
the biggest thing classic/SoD had going for it was the sandbox feel of a world that felt huge. the devs can’t seem to understand why people love classic setting, how many times have they said early on about something being “in the spirit of classic”?
so what does the spirit of classic mean to them? an escort quest that is essential to paladin in P4 that you have to group up with 4 more out of the 10 other paladins standing around in the barn playing “look at the hay” simulator while another group is out with the squire boy.
I got the squire tho and that dude is pretty cool

I find myself asking why you pay for a sub to play this game if you think another game (which also requires a sub) is better.
I mean, money isn’t really a huge issue to me either … but seems a bit counterproductive to be paying for something you’e not enjoying when you have another option elsewhere.
SOD has something new. I want to participate in the new thing. PVP on a PVP server is fine – in small quantities. But this scale of PVP is so one-sided that is becomes unplayable.
I hated Incursions for the same exact reason. I got to Honored and decided it wasn’t worth my time anymore. The PVP was why I stopped.
I don’t want to play FF14 right now. FF14’s PVP is trash. SOD’s WPVP is simply worse.
FF14 PVP kinda sucks man lmao. so does SoD PVP but buttons are so much less responsive+ I hate that classes are omega dumbed down with 5 buttons in FF14
TWW waiting room tbh, I have been playing other games today instead of leveling because I know I’m going to abandon this game for retail xpac because even though it doesn’t have the actual sandbox open world feel that SoD and era do, it’s just a much better game overall with devs that actually have a sense of direction.
I did not have this outlook until P3 dragged on and PVP was a hot mess every phase. start of P3 pre DR was fun though

The game IS GOOD. There are experiences in the GOOD GAME that make the GOOD GAME feel damn awful. Once we’re inside the dungeon, it’s fine. The game is good again.
The issue is the players outside the instances – they make the game awful. We put up with the awfwul parts so we can get to the good parts. The issue is that awful parts can be so bad that we can’t get to the good part in a reasonable amount of time.

I hate how bad this game has been flubbed because it has overall been an interesting iteration of paladin outside of exo spam being meta, and it actually feels pretty solid in P4 too

Majority of people that like to PVP play horde. I play MOBA’s, I like to PVP, in random BG’s Horde organize better and are more enthusiastic about being in the BG. Ally are there farming honor for gear and doomsaying “just give up/Why try/Let them win”.
Player base problem.
