You’re thinking about it from the jaded, been raiding around these buffs for 8 months, perspective. In that sense, it’s not a huge deal. But consider the perspective of someone finishing this quest for the first time. They walk up to Runthak with their recently won ony head. All their guildies said something about dropping it at a specific time, but they’re just stoked to finally be the guy dropping ony head and getting some loot. They turn in the quest and they start getting some sweet RP from Runthak. Before that can get rolling though, purple swirlies pop up above his head and he just stops. Did they do the turn in wrong? Is this the normal RP for turning in the ony head? What’s going on?
This type of behavior is disruptive beyond just missing a buff. I wouldn’t expect this one to last, unlike murdering the buff npcs to reset the timer.

They literally get everything except the buff. They got the RP yell, they got the loot.

Pretty sure it cuts the RP short.

USE A FLARE!
SAP requires stealth to use. The range on Flare is greater than the distance of the graphic.
Also the range of sap in classic is short, if you put a single flare on the target and a circle him in traps there is no way he can be CC by a rogue.
Not true. There are other CCs that interrupt it just fine too.
just blacklist that rogue on your server. if both factions reset for each other, im sure this can be arranged
Flare cancels stealth this eliminates sap and cheap shot.
If they also use traps like stated above, then there is no way he can ever get close enough to use Blind, Gouge, Premed Kidney, rocket helm, etc. The activation range on trap is very large once its in place and down. Stealth makes it possible to get close enough to use disarm trap, and flare eliminates that option.
3 Hunters using flare and traps would be enough to 99% eliminate rogue Rallying cry trolling.
Also consider that the efforts of a single rogue in the case of the OP is thwarting the desires of a faction, of entire raid teams. You would think that they would put their heads together and do something about it on their own rather than crying about it, but instead here they are whimpering and doing nothing BEGGING for blizzard to nerf this without thinking that it would actually backfire on them.
If you make the mob immune to rogue CC, this would also eliminate Mind control, and no they should not make special exception for MC if they go changing the mobs CC functions.
It doesn’t reset the turn in; the head gets cashed in, the quest completed, the gear picked up, but the buff is interrupted.

thats not what i meant. there is a certain level of cooperation between both factions if youre mc resetting for each other. name the rogue and blacklist his butt on his own faction, see how much he likes to sap after that
It costs like 2000G and two days of AFKing to boost an anonymous rogue alt to 60. Worth every copper.

This is amazing. This is what MMO’s are all about, and why rogues and their stupid shenanigans will always have a place. Working as intended IMO.

I’m sure all the alt rogues rolled for this purpose will be very upset at this.

They still get the quest reward. I’m not sure what your dramatic re-imagining here is supposed to convince anyone of.
Dramatic? It’s clearly disruptive, and it’s being done for the sake of being disruptive. There isn’t any question about it. As funny as veteran players may find it, there are newbies to the game who won’t understand what they’re seeing.
I hope rogues do this every time.
If Blizzard won’t remove world buffs at least players can do it for them.
And if they consider this an exploit they should also consider paying the opposite faction to mind control your NPC and kill it for many more buffs than intended an exploit too.

Yeah probably, but if batching lets the sap land even if the rogue gets popped, then there isn’t much that can be done about it.
I love the mature adult take you have on it. Thank you
