The two Scarab Lords I know both stopped using the mount a few weeks after getting it because it’s ugly as hell. One from actual Vanilla, one from pservers.
Was interesting that they both had the same reaction to it, sort of “it’s cool for a bit until the newness wears off.”

TLDR: blizzard messed up. There is no solution except them owning their mistakes.

I’m pretty sure blizzard capped the number of people that could be in silithus as a fix to the issues on the PTR. They should have done the same in tanaris. The horde recognized this mistake and picked tanaris as the spot to disrupt grizzly.

The duration of Blizzards temp ban on grizzly was also as disruptive to the other alliance as possible. Had the ban been only been until Tuesday AM grizz would have completed SL soon after the server reset. Or they could have extended the ban until after the event instead of giving a slap on a wrist. Either option would have resulted in less spillover onto other alliance guilds.
Blizzard needs to own their mistakes. They don’t need to give out mounts; ban any horde or take any action for or against the player base.
I personally find blizzards (errr activisions) holier than though attitude extremely obnoxious and off putting. I mean holy hek they pay their GMs and designers with swag rather than livable wages. The only griefer here is blizzard. Right click ban those fools.
Sounds more like certain guilds messed up and paid the price.
Were the horde experiencing the same lag? Because all the videos im watching of them holding off the alliance look crystal clear and lag free.
Is this a lag issue? Or a salt issue?
Link of these videos please
Do you have videos of your issues? Kinda wanna compare them
No I dont. No disagrees that their was lag expect you. The only sulfaras horde who openly posted in this thread and was there didn’t dispute the lag. Go away.
Im actually watching one from alliance. Pretty bad lag. Sucks that one pile of crap guild ruined it for everyone and was so toxic that an entire faction united against them. Better luck in the future i suppose

It’s been said many times in this thread.
No punishment for horde.
No mount for grizzly.
Mounts for the other three alliance guilds that we’re innocent bystanders in this entire debacle.

I watched staysafe get his scepter just now. Wow how ridiculously easy is the quest on faerlina. They had layers for the entire scarab farm and tanaris wasn’t completely broken when he turned in the quest. I’m not even sure if getting scarab lord is an accomplishment on the streamer server.
Right? I got no problem with people being scumbags
I just hate when they refuse to own it. Further proof that they are scumbags mind you. You were the bad guy this time, own it and move on intead of pretending you are righteous.
You make no sense. Why would Grizzly not get a mount, too? Why should Blizz intervene on everyone else’s behalf but not theirs? If what happened was okay for one, then it was okay for all.
Honestly, the mount and being scarab lord in general lost all it’s appeal with me with how common it’s going to be on the larger servers. In some instances, you’re going to see as many mounts on some servers as you see Thunderfurys. Was never really meant to be that way, most servers in vanilla were lucky to have had maybe TWO SLs, one on each faction. And because of that, it felt special and unique, as was the intention from the start. All day every day, my chat log is filled with people doing the events for their sceptors.
Not taking ANYTHING away from the guilds who committed to the grind and got their SLs. It’s still an impressive time commitment to go through that grind and get it done on time, and I look at that as the actual achievement versus the mount itself, due to how many there will end up being on the largest servers. There’s going to be a dozen or more scarab lords on some of the biggest servers, and even that may be an underestimate. Can’t help but feel like it lost all of it’s appeal.
Sorry, offtopic and all. What grizzly did was definitely bannable and they deserved it. Keeping anachronos in combat indefinitely to prevent the continuation of the quest chain on the other hand feels much more like a gray area, and a slippery slope kind of deal. Don’t think horde players should be banned for doing something like this on a PVP server, where you essentially agree to the terms of everything that comes with being on a pvp server, both the good and bad. It sounds like Grizzly is more at fault for blocking other alliance guilds from completing their sceptors, than the horde were. They apparently kept rushing in to prolong the fighting, knowing the horde would respond in kind because their vendetta was with them and them alone.

Don’t get me wrong, I think the toxic alliance guild got what was coming to them. I have sympathy for the other alliance guilds that got caught in the crossfire, but thats pvp for ya.
However… as I understand the horde was also prevented from turning in because the npc was kept in combat. There is no pvp solution to that particular problem, so I would have to say it was most definitely zone disruption.

Do you think a guild that griefs main tanks to the point of them transferring off the server should have action taken against them by Blizzard?
Like being mind control swam in lava to break your gear then sheeped back to full health until you log out for the night?
I don’t think they should, but I think guilds that take things to those extremes deserve to have extremes brought upon them like we saw on Sulfuras.
Classic’s a game of extremes - Grizzly liked to stack the odds in their favor and abuse people that couldn’t fight back. Horde find the extreme they had no answer to and screwed them out of 170k+ gold, months upon months of farming, turned them into the greatest meme in Classic, etc.
Servers have been crap since launch, BRM PvP on raid nights is a cluster of lag just as bad as what happened in Tanaris, you can’t even do Capital city raids which should be like a staple of a PvP server - Blizzard hasn’t apologized for that, they shouldn’t apologize now, certainly not an apology directed at any individual entity in the game.

that those few could infact kill the npc
while attempting to take down what can be considered a world boss.
I fixed some points for you and cleaned up your reply.
People playing on a pvp server, since when is that considered griefing?
