Alliance on Sulfuras griefed from Scarab Lord

I can’t help but feel sorry for anyone going for scarab lord.

99% chance they’re unemployed (A.K.A doing IT work from home) and most likely living in a toxic environment.

Blizzard please remove AQ for the greater good of player health.

Super easy fix to this problem. Transfer off a PvP server. Never ever play one again. Enjoy the game.

Again, there was no pvp solution. The lag in the zone rendered any form of pvp impossible.

There was at minimum 500 horde, and 200 alliance. All spamming aoe.

Have you ever been in org/sw during a buff drop? It was 10 times worse than that.

While I usually do not support the Horde in any way, from what I have read here they were basically being the Hand of Karma in a big way!!

If what I have read is true, then good for them. Shows what coordination and determination can do on a PvP server!!

Will probably only ever type this once, but… “For the Horde!!”

Thanks.

So you are saying that there were too many people interested in forcing PvP that it was keeping people from their PvE material? Sounds just like the crying we heard in P2. Sucks to be them, shouldn’t have chosen the server type that caters to toxic behavior.

Keeping the NPC in combat to disallow any from doing the quest is griefing plain and simple. It is one thing to just PvP all the other faction. it is another thing entirely to lock an NPC in combat for hours to stop people from a quest. Every one of those horde players should receive a ban.

A PvP solution existed (kill the Hordies doing it), so no action. This is regardless of any other facts that would offer mitigating circumstances.

Blizzard doesn’t normally see mitigating circumstances, unless:

  1. The solution nerfs Paladins.
  2. The solution helps a streamer.
  3. Apparently, giving Horde a helping hand seems to trigger those circumstances also.

I don’t know how to make it any clearer:

The amount of lag in the zone removed pvp from the equation entirely.

You could not bring more people to tanaris. They would disconnect upon loading in via summon or landing via flight path.

Grizzly deserved it. karma. they would have done the same thing.

i do feel bad for the legit guilds, grizzly ruins the game for everyone, whats new?

Yeah, but he did accomplish it…unlike other people who play in the sandbox and think it’s cute to throw sand in everybody else’s face until they get stomped.

Silithus was the sandbox.

The most dangerous and challenging element of the sandbox was the other kids in it…which certain people don’t appear to have grasped even 16 years later.

This is why there’s a difference between legally being an adult…and emotionally reaching adulthood.

As lessons go for those involved…I’d say the price could have been far steeper.

blame the servers then, not the players. unless the horde’s intention was to lag out the servers, it’s not zone disruption. it’s just an attempt at large scale world pvp that went wrong due to the servers. the servers prohibited the pvp solution, the behavior of the horde did not lack a pvp solution exactly, it lacked a plausible pvp solution. big difference.

I am not blaming the players.

I am not asking for punishment.

I simply want the three guilds who were not involved in the drama that completed their quests to be compensated.

Three guilds. Three communities full of good people. Robbed of their hard work thanks to the actions of a few.

I think if Blizzard intervenes in this situation at all, which I doubt, but if they do, letting the alliance players who had everything done to be able to complete the quest receive the mount reward would be cool. EXCEPT for Grizzly, since Horde successfully did what they aimed to do, prevent Grizzly from getting one. I think everyone on Sulfuras would be fine with that.
Would be awesome to piss off Grizzly even more lol.

i get that but i see it a little differently. the scarab mount was never garaunteed, especially not on pvp servers. keep in mind, their ability to do stuff like compensation is severely limited in classic. like when people accidently choose the wrong quest item, blizzard can’t really do much in those scenarios.

i could see them possibly restarting the war, but then you run into the problem of the same thing just happening again. best of luck, i have no personal stake in this,

Absolutely they would be.

If anything it would make the drama even better

Again, this isnt the playerbases fault. Your whole zone disruption argument is on blizzard. We all know it lags when there are to many people. We also know this is a MASSIVE MULTIPLAYER online rpg. Telling players that they should know not to form large groups is really dumb.

You know how to win at world PvP? Numbers. If the server cant handle the numbers then again, thats on blizz.

Would you kill three innocent people to stop a murderer? Because that’s literally what happened.

Three completely innocent guilds cheated out of their scarab lord only to prevent grizzly.

Not justice at all.

sucks

they aint getting scarab lord tho

If they were on servers that didn’t cater to people like Grizzly, then they wouldn’t have this problem.

Man, I don’t know anything about this, but if there aren’t at least 5 alts with some variation of the name #salt, I will be quite disappointed lol.
