Yes I remember your name, I saw you all week. I hope you could remember that we were always fighting for our territory. Our guild did not try to cheat the system in any way shape or form, nor did the other three guilds who missed their mounts.
It is people like you, me, and these other guilds that make these types of events what they are, truly epic.
Guilds like grizzly who pay for protection in an attempt to cheat the system as much as possible ruins this kind of event for everyone.
I know they got what they deserved, I’m with you on that 100%.
I do not believe even for a second that these other guilds should be robbed of their hard work because of grizzly though.
well this isn’t Vanilla. It’s an interactive museum piece that people are min/maxing to oblivion. I mean are people really planning on playing this iteration of Warcraft where they pick their favourite balance patch and re-release expansions and try to collect the the unobtainable items that don’t exist in retail? Does it end with TBC? Wrath? Cata?! Classic + is not ever going to be a thing.
I guess if enough people want to replay pseudo versions of WoW from the past and will pay a sub fee we’ll see more classic expansions but the whole idea behind Shadowlands is a “reset” with the level squish and new leveling system. It’s the closest thing to WoW 2.0 we’ll ever get with how dead the MMO genre is.
Just be happy a classic Vanilla-esque server exists run by Blizzard and maybe they are going to put out TBC which really was the pinnacle of Warcraft. Wrath is my favourite expansion for the story but it’s when the QoL changes started to change the game for better or worse depending on your opinion. If you’re not happy then speak with your wallet like some of the retail complainers do and quit giving them money because in the end this is a side project to the main game and will never get the attention you all seem to think it warrants.
both sides already hated them. Why do you think no alliance guilds showed up? Any alliance guild that was trying to finish scarab lord only wanted to try to help grizzly as a last resort. They were mostly trying to work with the horde to give them a window to cash the quest.
They “doubted” on how hard they had to go to punish the false-reporting abuse, and caused all this to blow up.
If they had banned all Grizzly members that participated in the flagging causing the ban for like 2 weeks, they’d have been denied the Scarab Lord, would have been eliminated from the different races Grizzly participates, and everyone would be happy.
Instead, they decided to apply a symbolic 3-day ban.
That’s like when Blizzard banned bots for 6 months, but let them keep all the farmed materials. People who botted would think #worth.
Suspensions must have a deterrent effect. Otherwise, it instates people to do the stuff over and over again.
I agree with this. Considering you do not get it on live it will be forever stuck in a timewarped version of WoW that will slowly die off as content gets stale. This is something that really is not worth the effort required considering the only Scarab Lords that matter are on live.
But it has a PvP solution. Killing/kiting flight masters, quest givers, etc. is not PvP, but it’s allowed because the solution is to wreck the offenders and restore status quo.
Clearly this was the alliances fault for not bringing another 100 players to crash the server and reset the entire encounter so they could gain the advantage in PvP by securing the choke.
On a real note, all of you are so wrapped up in a dated game that you’re setting yourselves up for disappointment every time a major event takes place.
Blizzard won’t fix your problems because the community created it’s problems, and they shouldn’t be obligated to. The community around anything “prestigious” in Classic is a toxic cesspool of no life rejects and socially awkward boomers trying to get a sense of accomplishment doing things that were accomplished 15 years ago.
Even if the servers did function without lag, the next step would be kiting the dragon behind the wall into Caverns of Time and slaughtering anyone that attempts the jump to get out of bounds.
Stop buying into the bait of that unattainable dream and just play the damn game. Got purged? Sucks to suck. Couldn’t finish Scarab Lord? That’s a bummer. AQ’s too easy? Yep, check your BiS list.
Nobody’s supposed to be guaranteed anything in this game, and this mount especially is a gigantic meme you won’t even use 8 months from now.
This is literally the experience you wanted, the polar opposite of the Retail “everyone gets everything” culture. People failing at major events in the game as others push forward and succeed.
Grizzly got out scummed for the first time in Classic. Know how you win in Warcraft? You do everything you can to screw everyone else over in your favor. Don’t like to play that way? Don’t play that way and stop holding the same goals those scum hold in the game.
I don’t see how it’s griefing. You have to complete the quest line within a limited time period to get the mount. There are no participation trophies. If a group of 10 players tried to farm the 42k carapaces, but couldn’t due to 50 players of the opposite faction getting in their way no one would care. It wouldn’t matter if the 50 players killed the 10 over and over, if they tagged and killed all the relevant mobs, or if they tagged a butt load of mobs and kept them all in combat forever.
It seems like some people just want to split hairs and pretend the situation is special because Anachronos is the mob that gives you the scepter via a quest. If you had to kill Anachronos instead, then take his severed head and smash it against the gong no one would care and we wouldn’t be having this conversation.
I get that is sucks considering all the work that was put in, only to be denied near the very end. Still, deserves have nothing to do with it.
I can’t imagine people who originally got SL actually care about getting it in this remake… but I could be wrong. There is nothing prestigious about Classic.
So again, what was the solution? Are you saying to punish the Horde because they tried to force a PvP solution and Blizzard’s dated tech let everyone down?
In the future, what number of players should be allowed to seek WPvP at a given moment?
