Driads? No pants, no shoes, no shirts and no service.
Like centaurs and naga they don’t wear pants or shoes.
Of course if Blizzard wanted to, they could ignore it but why so much effort to get serious on the alliance?
Ethereals would be meaningless hidden behind armor. And what would the customization of a race with no distinguishable shapes be like? No faces. No hairstyles. It would be with the mechagon gnomes, and I can even imagine which race the horde would receive in compensation. And let’s be honest. Ethereals are another race that Blizzard wouldn’t make an effort to put into the alliance correctly. we were going to get another purple blood elf, only with bandages. Of course, Blizzard could write alum lore for the mummies on the ally but if they didn’t want to write it for furbolg, vrykalens, jinyus, arakkoas and positively didn’t do it with sethraks, I can only laugh at people hoping for something with the nature of etherals, which would require more work than that applied to kultirans, be done.
If done, it will be for the horde.
One of the problems was the disreputable way in which what the alliance received was done.
Always to leave the feeling that we were somehow cheated in our expectations.
Remember the Penauts hallowen special, where everyone goes out to collect candy, and all Charlie Brown gets from people is rocks?
Blizzard did the same thing. Of course, Charlie’s colleagues have fun and some, like Lucy, make fun of their friend’s luck, like some horde players make fun of what the ally received.
Of course, this increases the justifications for the alliance’s evasion to the horde.
Sir, it was a sarcastic reply. I’m sorry that the sarcasm went over your head. I’ll make sure to put a /s in the future so there’s no more misjudgments of my character by strangers on the internet telling me what I “really think”.
Void Elves very much exist. And unfortunately, they’ve been entirely overridden by the High Elf crowd demanding more.
They shouldn’t abandon them. I’d like to see a lot more flavorful racials like Worgen having the option to use their claws instead of melee weapons for example.
This is not correct, the KT and pandaren do not share any animations, sure some are similar but if you actually look at the bone movements then you can see they’re different and don’t share the animations. This is even more obvious if you play them slowed down.
I find it annoying when someone sprout clear false information, calling KT “newish” would be like calling the pandaren “newish” back in MoP. It’s a full new rig that does not share from the other ones, which in my opinion is also annoying. That they decided to make the single new AR rig another human.
Feel free to post even one animation in this thread to prove your point how they share animations / are built on another rig though.
I think we should accept that Void Elves are what they are… They have their own value separate from High Elves and Blood Elves with a large amount of room to grow.
Being able to finally rp high elves on the Alliance is good and grand, but trying to kick off the Void Elves because you prefer the high elves is just… well bad.
(I’m not saying thats what you’re saying mind I mean the general desire some seem to have to do so.)
Thank you.
Someone once told me they measured the leg of the Zandalari and it matched night elves so clearly Zandalari were the night elves rig.
Ruffles my jimmies when people make flying leaps without any idea what they’re talking about.
This I think is a valid criticism of the Kul’Tirans being the ones that did get a new rig. Its neat and all but it went to a human race that we effectively already have. Even the Vulpera only have a modified goblin rig and they ARE a new race.
most of the stuff quests or npc’s say/write seems to work off of id code for race. or class in some cases. the rep vendor in val’sharah will have lines for demons other classes don’t. she doesn’t seem to think highly of demon hunters lol.
Hi…call up race_id_12345, print human lovely day isn’t it?
now a blood elf walks ups.
Hi…call up race_id_12346, print blood elf. lovely day isn’t it?
I went through them on the wowhead dresser. They are very similar but then I started to compare it to the other races. Apparently the WoW-developers uses a stable of established norms, paste it to the races and slightly change them. The Lightforged are also very similar to the Pandaren one while the Night Elf aren’t. I haven’t looked through all races but I also looked upon the death animation of the KT/Pandaren (because it was mentioned) and they are also very similar but different.
I think it’s fair to say that we all are correct. They are not copy-pastes but they did copied the stances with small subtle changes which make them still somewhat lazy work. KT/Pandaren/Draenei/LFD are in some regard very similar. And just to be clear here: There are several stables of shared animation across all characters but the few ones simply stand out because how easily recognizable they are.
Would have been the best solution from the start.
This is something which makes me not to play Worgen very often. Why should I use knives and daggers while they can slash and bite? Even Greymane uses his claws, so why can’t the players?
Fenelon, everything will stand or fall with a future Light Expansion. If the Void Elves aren’t going to be pushed, then they are just another lost concept like the Pandaren. Luckily though the associated Void Elf is one of the important characters and wife of the upcoming villain of the Alliance, so the chances are good they will not be forgotten.
There is no reason they can’t be involved in any other type of story nor do I think they will “fall” if they’re not forefront.
What will matter is if blizzard continues with their expansion deadlines. It forces them to concede wider more inclusive stories for this focused washed out story setup.
The High Elves have been denied to the Alliance and constantly shoved into their face as a faction (Silver Covenant, Alleria who is a Void Elf and can look like a High Elf) as much as the Blood Elves are the most desirable race on the Horde side because Orcs are ugly and “unplayable”.
Perception + lack of oomph + Horde bias killed the Alliance in total. Imagine how many people would be willed to play Gnomes if they are the best Mages in the game.
DID are one of the most insane races in the game. A mage who has double the amount on portals than a regular Mage-player and has an Orc-like Frenzy-skill which also cleanses while moving faster indoors.
KT have a permanent damage reduction, similar to HMT and a stun which can throw people off cliffs. On top of that they can be Druids and Shamans.
