Alliance finally winning AV

Agreed, meeting at an objective makes sense but it should be a neutral objective. When Blizzard changed the BG from its original state they did not re-balance it properly.

I’m sure you can type “goggle” in ur web browser. Give it a shot.

Put in an earlier version of AV, and I can almost guarantee it.

I’d love to get horde and alliance to collude one AV, no one fights they just do stuff like measure out the BG and get some good numbers on all this. It’s not going to happen but it’s good for everyone to have facts rather than beat each other up with lies and innuendo.

Or, hey, how about the game developers open things up and discuss it all? I mean, the buck really stops there, doesn’t it?

I’m not sure what you mean by mass-non-participation but I’ll assume is the afk people. To be honest I only see 2-3 people afk at the start of av and I don’t think 2-3 more would change anything. The map is just too hard for the alliance, It’s almost impossible to cap IBGY, it’s so easy to defend you have to rely on the alliance rolling a really good comp with competent healers and geared dps against sub 60 hordies, otherwise It’s impossible.

Afk made the mad disadvantages harder to overcome. The horde map advantage has been a problem forever, which is why the cave was eventually moved. No one said alliance couldnt win
it is just harder, which is why the win rate is so lopsided

A lot of former Alliance premaders decided to afk/not participate when they broke premades. A larger portion of an Alliance team was not participating than the Horde’s team. It was not uncommon to see upwards of 15 or so people scattered around the map hiding
while not being literally afk.

IBGY is strong, yes. But I don’t think juggling complaints back and forth about the map one-by-one is a good way to discuss the whole maps balance. Bringing up 1 thing you think is strong for the opponent, and waiting for them to counter with 1 thing they think the other-side has strong
just leads to an endless ping-pong.

Here you go. I’ve seen you post enough that I know you’ll justify it with some other excuse so I’m excited to hear it.

Also, a number of other points need addressed in this thread:

  1. Hordies in this thread have argued that meeting at Balinda makes no difference when the resource ticket system isn’t in place. This is utterly false - let’s not forget that these captains provide a team wide 20% health buff. Getting to Balinda first ensures horde has a much higher likelihood of receiving this buff, since killing Galv after Balinda doesn’t net the Alliance any bonus honor. I won’t even get into detail about how much stronger Galv is than Balinda. In addition, even if horde get wiped at Balinda they get reinforcements before we make it to their objectives anyway. It requires the Alliance to wipe the Horde a complete additional cycle relative to the number of times Horde has to wipe the Alliance.
  1. Speaking of reinforcements, when we manage to make it to the horde objectives, half of them spawn in the cave. One horde in this thread (at least) marked this as a disadvantage for them, which is hilarious because it is what single-handedly allows for Horde to have twice the reinforcements of Alliance - remember that spawns are capped at 10 per graveyard.

Alright let’s hear those zug excuses now.

I play AV for 4 to 5 hours a day and believe when I say. AFK’rs and Bot’s are a major problem why alliance loses AV. Its hard to fight 25(ish)v40. That doesnt include those that dont care to participate.

Havent you notice people on their mounts near battles? stealthers in stealth near battles? one of the building next to SHGY is a great place to catch people afk’n.

I get what you saying, playing alliance in AV always feels like you’re being massively outnumbered. But you can’t really ignore the map, it’s not just IBGY, the cave distance makes so the horde and alliance both meet at SH and boy isnt SH easy to pressure? Access by two sides and if the horde caps it its game over because now we spawn in africa and get choked under the icewing bunker.

I feel like we should fix 1 problem first, then see if that doesn’t address other problems. If you have 15ish more active players on your team, you may find places on the map you thought were tough will be less tough.

When is AB coming out?

They will never admit to this
along with so many other things that make you scratch ur head. I just realize why are our druids summoning stones out in the open? Where as horde shaman’s are nicely put kinda out of the way?

I love the idea of making so you guys do not rez at the cave but FWGY. I can live with that change.

Asymmetric map. I just want Blizzard to flip it and we’ll see which side screams more.

Oh, I think Balinda is much weaker as an NPC than Galv is.

You are ok in my book. =)

Imo what they should do is

  • Move the cave or prioratize horde res at FWGY instead of cave
  • Separate level 51-59 bracket from 60s
  • Harder punishment to afkers
  • Allow full 40 man premades or at least 20 man

With our 90 min Q’s you should be getting better honor per hour than us no matter what. The real issue is too many on your side who expect instant gratification. We smash your surge and 1/2 your team gives up. Report people going AFK. Get people to keep fighting. You can’t blame the game for people not trying.

Harsher punishment for AFKers is something i think we can all get onboard for.

They did make it so you spawn at grave-yards instead of caves
unfortunately they did that post-vanilla. It is the same argument people used to justify kiting warmasters
even though they became linked to Drek in TBC.

Allowing premades/partial premades will allow them to abuse the automated report system again, unfortunately. The players have proven themselves unable to do it without griefing their own factions.

As for having a 60 only bracket
I am sure that would make a lot of people happy, but that isnt the Vanilla experience. Some times losing a game because half your team is killing wolves happens.
