Gonna sign on - this is blatant favorism. If you want to kill the alliance faction to limit design constraints, why not instead remove the faction barrier so players can, you know, play together.
Personally I’m not a fan of the hordes design and general aesthetics. That SHOULD be fine, and I SHOULDN’T be at a massive disadvantage if I want to play that faction from the perspective of available talent pool.
Have you, the devs (who will never read this salty post), ever tried to recruit for an alliance guild? It’s night and day how much easier it is to find quality players on the horde side.
Both factions had access to do this. Not just Alliance. People actually need to read.
The vial - yes. The racial, obviously not.
Yes thats what I mean. This really isnt a competitive advantage because both sides have access to do what Stoneform could do.

Correct me if I’m wrong but the racial and vial are on separate cooldowns, no?
I believe so, but the raid itself had a mechanic to get rid of the stacking bleed (the intended mechanic).
To me, if you are specifically running a covenant to bypass a core mechanic of a fight…then there is something wrong with that covenant. V
I know all the talk here is on the Bleed and the Dwarf racial for it, but I would also like to add that one of the Dwarf racials is
Explorer: You find additional fragments when looting archaeological finds and you can survey faster than normal archaeologists.
And Archeology isn’t being continued into Shadowlands so… Sorry for yet another blow Dwarfs? Y’all really getting it rough.

100% agree from a good game design standpoint. However, looking at past raids and how impactful racials were - it feels bad to be on the alliance side of the coin.
If blizzard decides to fix racial ‘gaps’ or exploits before a raid goes live in the future, and it just happens to start with the one recent time it benefits alliance - ok, fair. But that has yet to be determined.
Let’s also not understate how impactful being able to remove 2x the debuffs in the same timeframe is. So it was certainly a competitive advantage being able to stone form and use vial.
I feel like Alliance needs a racial rehaul. Need to take away the niche abilities for more utility in my opinion.
I still have no clue how Fireblood works with the stacks though.
Alliance racials are ‘fine’ tbh. The issue is momentum has pushed too many people over to the horde side. Something big would need to happen to even out the population a bit.

Its really hard to say what would solve a popualtion gap…when a majority of players are over there with a majority of guilds.
You cant have players come over without the guilds…nor vice versa.
To me, perhaps hard-capping could work but it would be an emergency button.

Just remove the faction barrier, let horde and alliance play in the same guild, and use war mode as world PvP (since it already exists). FFA world PvP sounds fun to me
My one issue with removing the faction system is its something that makes WoW unique, and it drives a lot of the story narratives with the game.
It would be hard pressed to do so, in my opinion, without affecting core aspects of story-telling and the game in general. (Not that its impossible, mind you.)

I’d like an expansion where they at least experiment with the idea. If we can have borrowed powers, why not borrowed allegiances?
I’d be very interested to see the caliber of questing/stories if half the design space wasn’t taken up by each individual faction.
I know what would solve the population issue.
1st. Not so many people want to play for boring Humans. We already humans in a 1st place
2nd. Alliance have a reputation of not the most honorable individuals, skill less individuals
3rd. Those extra chest pieces during BFA raiding made that hate even bigger and it is very important. Because people naturally migrate between factions and when you make one community hate another because they have itm advantages while you do not. It makes this gap even greater. Just watch proportion Horde vs Alliance in Shadow Lands
You do realize that more people play night elves than humans at max level, right?
Would it be better if racials were completely removed from the game? That way Blizzard isn’t having to constantly try and balance the game around not only classes but which FoTM race is.

“You think you do, but you do not” and if you want to have that extra quest you have to pay extra 20$ on top of 15$ subscription on top 40$ patch update.
