You left in the ability for Arcane Torrent to destroy the Zul adds in Uldir, forcing Alliance to grab a spammable dispel class, when all Horde had to do was grab enough Blood Elves if they lacked a spammable dispel class. THIS WAS NEVER NERFED, I MIGHT ADD
It took you until the mythic race was over to nerf the troll racial Da Voodoo Shuffle on Jaina in BoD, which gave Horde a MASSIVE advantage over Alliance, allowing them to reset their stacks prematurely.
Etc. But the first time since the Racial Overhaul in WoD that an Alliance racial has an advantage and it’s nerfed before it even goes live.
Do people understand why Alliance cry Horde favoritism yet?
And it’s not equivalent. A bleed is something no one other than dwarves, or people with the Kyrian Phial could remove. The adds on Zul could be purged by blood elf racial, shaman purge, priest purge, and even spell stolen, in addition to just being outright killed. A bleed is meant to be something the raid has to deal with because it’s a mechanic which is debuff related, not add related. It’s meant to be something healers need to deal with other than just outright popping some kind of immunity like bubble or IB.
Isn’t the nerf a good thing? So dwarves and kyrians don’t feel mandatory for certain fights in the raid just to cheese mechanics. It seems like a good idea that they’re pre-emptively fixing it before it’s a problem this time. That’s just balancing, not favoritism.
We can compare it to Da Voodoo Shuffle, if you’d like, where trolls were negating two entire ticks of Jaina’s AoE debuff which ended up bringing the damage she dealt down considerably. No other race or class can do that.
Well if a racial is supposed to stop bleeds, that’s something that the raid should be able to use all the time, not when it’s convenient for the encounter designer’s ego.
I believe the issue is that they took their time fixing it when Horde races had advantages but were quick on the draw when it was Alliance (made even worse by the fact that Alliance competitive raiding is hurting badly and needs any edge it can get). It’s not so much about fixing the problem as the timing being suspicious.
In theory, of course its good. If only they would nerf Horde OP racials as quick as they nerfed Alliance ones we wouldn’t even be having this discussion.
They only nerf racials when they embarrass the designers which is why they changed the original arcane torrent after every team in that Mythic + tournament stacked blood elf.
I’m sure it was a council of devs sitting around and waiting for the chance the nerf the Alliance. It’s not like the entire dev team is currently working on balance and polish and therefore would simply do this as part of their overall work pipeline. As opposed to a dev team that was already working on Shadowlands while still rebalancing things in BFA to try and quiet the screaming hordes.
I’m sure it was a council of devs sitting around and waiting for the chance the nerf the Alliance.
I mean, this kinda why most realms are alliance ghost towns anyway, because edges have been given to Horde and nerfed far too late whereas an edge comes out Ally side and it gets nerfed before it’s even released. Just saying, it would have been nice if they’d of left that in so that maybe enough guilds would hop over for said edge so Ally even HAS a mythic raiding scene…
How would the Horde like it if the Zandalari Pterrodax racial only worked when you were in Zuldazar? How would the Horde like it if the Troll racial only boosted haste for DoTs? Etc.
Da Voodoo Shuffle IS equivalent though. And I love that you conveniently left that out of your post. It let Horde have 2 less stacks of the debuff on Jaina, and sometimes drop it entirely, allowing it to reset. It wasn’t nerfed until after the mythic first race, effectively making the BoD Mythic Race 10000000% Horde biased.
