Alliance BfA War Campaign Won't Start after Faction Transfer

I perhaps have a rather nuanced problem but its irritating none the less.

I recently swapped my toon over to Alliance and would like to unlock the Dark Iron Dwarves as a playable race. This character already finished all the horde War Campaign, all BfA content, max rep, all that. In order to continue the quest in the Dark Iron dwarf unlock quest-chain, I have to go to the MotherLODE. In order to get the MOTHERLODE, I need to get to Zandalar. In order to get to Zandalar, I need to have started the War Campaign and progressed far enough to establish a foothold on Zandalar. Problem is, that quest does not exist. I’ve talked to all the NPC’s listed on the wowhead site for the quest chain and have no clue what to do to get the quest chain to start.

You don’t see a quest called Tides of War in Stormwind Harbor on that character? You probably need to enable trivial quest tracking via the minimap.

I looked and did not see the quest, with trivial quest turned on.

On a side note I’m still able to start both the Black Empire and the Nazjatar campaign’s, its just the War Campaign that won’t start.

You appear to have the quest “Zandalari Foothold” in your quest log, Cucuchu. That is part of Ready for War.

Sorry for necroing this thread, but i am experience the same issue, and i have no quests tied to the war campaign. i’ve finished everything while i was on horde side, i have no quests at the boat. i did have access to nazjatar and the black empire, but i have no way to go to the horde territory nor any quest that allow me to.

  1. Did you do the starting quest in Stormwind (Alliance) or Orgrimmar (Horde)? It is picked up from a guard near a warboard.
  2. What level is your character? A number of the quests were changed from a level 50 requirement to a level 60 requirement.

The quests for BFA are faction specific, so if you did it on the Horde side, you will need to complete it for the Alliance side.

As Rufflebottom noted, you should be able to speak to the Hero’s Herald in the Trade District in Stormwind. Make sure you have low level tracking on, as the quests will be well under your current level.

Hello fellow mage, i figured this would be the right answer since most basic campaign npcs for the alliance werent present for me nor i had the teleport from silithus to boralus and all the zones reflected 0 story progress even though i finished everything horde side.

Indeed, by the Hero’s call Board, the Hero’s Herald will give the quest to start the BFA campaign. So in the end, my story progress wasn’t saved, but completely erased, although unlocked stuff remained such as war campaign table mission npcs and perks and reputations, as well as my Black Empire phasing for the latest expansion patch.

I guess i’ll need to replay it all over again from the alliance perspective, but at least i should be able to go to the Horde Territory now.

PS: The character would be this one, although my new race and faction have not been reflected on the forum yet.
