Killing bosses is typically important to PvE Raiders, so taking steps to improve that is important. Using the “whats another 3-5 sec matter” logic:
Getting Hit-capped isn’t a big deal, what’s 1-3% whiffed attacks?
Another 3k Armor? Naw, the Healers can sort that out…
Ooop, forgot to swap my FR gear out, eh my being OOM won’t hurt the last minute of the fight!
Yeah I’m healing as Shadow with no regen gear, why?
–AFK–
Why did we pull so many mobs? Oh well it isn’t like run-backs are a significant penalty, just a bit of time
No raid does everything perfectly, and most raids fail because of a thousand errors stacked up, some larger than others. Bringing a Ret will never compare to the stupidity of a Warrior using Charge to out range all the Healers while they’re still drinking, dying, then causing a wipe because the OT was on bathroom break. But that sort of mistake is very easily noticed and rectified and people don’t whine about “but I want to play MY way!”
Ret is a suboptimal spec that is less intuitive to play successfully than a Warlock or Mage spamming one button 99% of the time. That hurts your raid, even if all it does is slow you down at worst.
I asked you if killing a boss 3 seconds faster really matters. That’s a yes/no question. Nobody asked you how you feel about Rets compared to Mages or Warlocks.
And I gave you not only your answer, but also explained why it matters. That you think it was a direct, specific comparison to Mages/Warlocks makes me think you just can’t read.
A lot harder to strawman my intentions when I don’t just do as you say… haha
Like this. You still had to use those Inquisitor powers to figure out what I’m really up to haha
I will grant you that you’re slightly less dim than that other moron who thought all yellow damage was holy damage while arguing all the same mouth breathing talking points you’ve presented. But that’s hardly a difficult bar to clear…
That’s a pretty strange response to you (for the 4th time) not being able to just say “yes” or “no”.
What are you afraid of?
So you post a bunch of strawmans then pick a random comment and call it a strawman? Ugh… cringeworthy when people use a term when they don’t even know what it means.
Absolutely nothing, because you’ve already gotten you answer HAHA
I feel like I’ve just walked through the steps on how to solve an equation, which includes the answer, and you’re here demanding I just tell you the answer. C’mon… you’re not this stupid.
If you’re going to fail at informal fallacy usage, I suppose you should fail this badly… /sigh
I never attributed any of the hypotheticals to your position, which would be a strawman, but rather followed your presented argument of minor setbacks not “mattering” and presented others. Hypotheticals are not instantly strawmen, but just hypotheticals, as the fallacy is informal. Each was an exemplar of a minor thing raiders often do that won’t necessarily cause the raid to fail the encounter, but they do have an impact on success.
Couldn’t agree more. You an elitist jerk and wanna try n tell people what they can and cannot play? COOL! Then stay away from me. People know what the bleeding edge best is, this is a 15 year old game and ppl wont shut up about it… but god forbid they play what they enjoy, right!?
Not really, bud. I think the reason you’re scared to answer is because if you say yes, that it matters, it kind of proves the point made of obsession. However, if you just say no, it proves Zengaku right.
