All of u back then: we want gear vendors

when gear vendors are added: WE WANT STAT TEMPLATES BACK

funny, they wanted gear back

they got the old system back where rating matters, so they can’t get the best gear

now they want free hand outs

not like stat templates will help them win, huge difference between players who know what they are doing and just get carried

I’d rather keep rated gear unattainable unless you are able to play at that level

And if they do want 220+ gear there is still mythic+ and raiding, always has been, and pvp players used that before honor gear was upgradable to fill in slots… so just people don’t use whats available to them to level the playing field

I think people just wanted there to be an honor set and a conquest set w/o the leveling up aspect.

The voice of the pvpers pretty clear they wanted WOD’s system back. The only;y people that didn’t want it seems like Blizzard. Also please show me where PVP players wanted to go back to this archaic system where gear matters over skill go ahead I’ll wait.

All blizzard needed to do was this

and we would of all been fine. We wouldn’t have had problems with boosters or carries.

The problem is PvP gear is now good in PvE, so if it were easily obtainable PvErs would feel forced to PvP, and we can’t have that.

So instead they make the grind to be competitive ridiculously long. If you could get an honor set that was slightly worse than the conquest set, no one would have a problem.

I think they should scale all honor pieces to 197 in pvp. That’d do a lot to help.

it’s only season 1, that will happen anyways in time when season 2 comes out and the old conquest gear becomes the honor set

but people will still complain because they can’t get whatever the next 233+ ilevel conquest set is

Also the old system would only increase pvp ilevel to 200 or so, just because actual pvp gear did raise your ilevel at the time… i forget if i was legion or WoD, but I do like having a floor (just shouldnt invalidate people who have earned higher ilevel conquest gear)

Nah, I’m happy with the gearing system as it currently is and I don’t want it to change.

Nah, I haven’t been doing arenas lately.

Edit: and back when I was doing arenas, I had challenger gear.

Im a god 1400xp player anyone wanna play lumberjack cleave?

So, do you pvp? Or do you just participate for free PvE gear

Of course, otherwise I wouldn’t be in this discussion.

This game is just full of incredibly dull people. The following things are not mutually exclusive.

  1. Gear vendors
  2. Gear not locked behind rating

we want only 1 set of conquest gear like past expansions not tiered conquest gear based on rating.

Blizzard also stated that they didn’t like how PvE and PvP were diverging so much. They wanted players who PvP to be able to go PvE with the gear they get from their chosen activity and vice versa which is why they have the current system.

They also didn’t want too many differences between classes in PvP and PvE which is why they tend to be reluctant to make abilities have different effects in PvP and PvE.

Now I’m not saying the current system is perfect but just explaining why the current system is the way it is.

But, Blizzard wouldn’t have their token sales either.

I was fine with bc gearing, I was fine with wotlk gearing, I was fine with cata gearing, I was fine with mop gearing, I was fine with wod gearing, I was fine with legion templates, I was fine with bfa rng & I’m fine now. Gear is never an issue if you have even a modicum of pvp experience.

Are the new guys fine though? Nope, the ilvl gulf is exacerbating an already stressful experience & even if we don’t care, it’s still an issue that affects the game mode’s appeal to a wider audience, which will eventually determine if arena thrives or dwindles.

Blizzard made a big mistake by diverging from WoD pvp gear. They need to be brave and go back to a much better system. It was better for everyone, better for unrated players, better for rated players, better for PVE players even (the barrier to entry for PVP was so low in those days, and catch up was super fast), it was better for people who loved to play a lot of classes.

The only group that this current gearing system is better for is the people selling carries.

WoD was so much better and the current system is not that far off. We already get PVP talents that only work in PVP, and a trinket bonus that only works in PVP. We just need to extend it so that all PVP gear gets a boost in PVP.

This is it, but I actually did like the small 10 ilvl difference that conquest gear had. It was not a huge difference, but worth getting. Also, it was not gated by rating.

Remove all the rating gates (unless they want to keep the WoD version where people had a higher cap each week with rating), remove all the time gating on PVP gear, remove the need to endlessly upgrade it, remove the massive ilvl disparity.

Separate PVP gear from PVE progression and we are good again.

Yep, same ilvl for all pvp gear, i’m so happy vendors are back, but all the gear should be same ilvl, no upgrades.

Or have the small difference we used to have. Honor and Conquest gear was only 10 ilvl apart in WoD.

But definitely no needing to level up honor gear or conquest gear, I agree
