All of this could have been so easily avoided

I dunno why they’re so invested in talking about tokens. Everytime other time they comment it’s about token.

Maybe they’re AH goblin and more buyers means they can sell their things for more… I can only see that.

Why advertise so much that you give more money to Blizzard when GD makes it a point to hate Blizzard for every decision…?

I don’t raid but I agree with your assessment 100%. The only explanation I can think of for Blizzards horrendous customer service error is that they ALWAYS pander to the elite and see “looking for raid” players as something less-than. In my 16 years playing wow I’ve always felt unwanted, not respected, or appreciated as a customer & player because I cannot raid, or tolerate PvP. I still enjoy the game but am constantly disgusted how Blizzard treats customers (and employees) - hence, why I’m a serial account canceler.

I keep seeing this phrase “ego driven desire”
what is this talking point? no, people like to put effort in to earn things
that is literally what the entire game is based around.

While true and I agree with you, the narratives of “promoting boosts” and “baiting people into subs” is utter nonsensical conjecture.

please, quit and go play something else then

Agreed. I simply don’t believe boosts have anything to do with Blizz’s actions here. I could be wrong, but it doesn’t add up for me.

Buying boosts for normals is already rare since it is the ground floor for raid entry. Most boost sellers dont offer clears of normal because it is not profitable. If the mount was a heroic completion, then I would be more inclined to agree with some boosting sale influence.

I don’t have that data.

I was just making the argument that while someone subscribing for the whole year is nice, if someone were to buy tokens for a month, Blizz would be making more money.

They want folks to sub, obviously, it’s like a themepark. Get you inside to spend even more money.

Because my original argument was aimed at folks who were using this Slime Cat mount being in normal as a sense of “prestige” to say to other folks “look at what I accomplished”.

Then I made the argument “your accomplishment can be purchased with tokens”, so because of that, it should be a personal accomplishment. And if it’s a personal accomplishment, it shouldn’t matter what difficulty it is on.

I just did the mage tower thing for guardian druid a week or two ago. It was super hard for me. It took me well over a day of trying and I died easily over 200 times. I’m not the best druid player, but I wanted it.

Did I care if others did it in two tries? Does that make my accomplishment any less? No.

So why the heck does someone getting this mount in LFR ruin your accomplishment? Why does someone buying this mount with tokens ruin your accomplishment? It shouldn’t. It should be your accomplishment.

But there isnt any new content, its just a refresh of end game content. Whats the theme park? Wasnt one of the largest criticisms of S4 that it was old content redux?

I mean it’s like a themepark business model. Themeparks, in my very limited knowledge of that business, get you into the door and then try to get money via smaller purchases.

Blizzard gets you in the door for $15 and hey… maybe you need some gold for something? Pay $20. Hey, maybe you want this nice new mount on the store for $25?

We’d go get the rewards if we wanted them. Also out of the 172 mounts released in game this expansion, more than 160 of them do come from open world content.

They should have come up with a way to trade flux for the creation motes. Those are just annoying to farm to make the ZM mounts.

Just so, but something has to be in game for these “casuals” who spend 60 hours a week doing trivial content while begging for competitive rewards for engaging in non competitive content.

Of course there has to be stuff in the game for them, Classic poster.

Those casuals make up a bulk of the customers, do they not?

They could just go the way of Wildstar and cater to the raiders.

I can definitely understand how you feel and thank you for saying what you did. I’ve felt in similar ways off and on myself. Don’t let anyone tell you your experiences and thoughts aren’t valid; they are and you’re not alone at all in feeling this way. So many feel overlooked and unheard and even when there’s an easy way to make sure people feel heard, it seems to be the choice not taken for the company. No one has the right to tell you to quit playing.

I think what sucks most is that they said they want to improve communication with the community and here’s a chance to! But nothing. Which reinforces the behavior that has gone on for years and disminishes the hope that maybe things were really going to change for the better this time.

Wildstar died from a lot more than just catering to raid or die. It was one of many stab wounds.

Which is a shame, they had such a good housing system. Also their character models were great!

Anywho, I wish they communicated better on this thing (Blizzard).

I said exactly that, level10 alt.

So people like you claim and would have us believe. Personally, I’m inclined to think the game is largely comprised of a player base who engages in a mix of pvp, M+, and raid.

Ya know. The stuff you do in an MMORPG.

I think the “casuals” who farm trivial content for 60+ hours a week refusing to ever engage in anything other than old or catch up content make up the tiniest minority of players.

Great housing, the rest of the game was an unplayable mess.

Raid or die is especially funny since the raid gear was worse than crafting gear on many occassion. Do an asinine guild breaking amount of attunement for little to no pay off

Wildstar was fun while it lasted, it really was. The classes were different in a good way and fun too.
