All of this could have been so easily avoided

Again, if the desire to “put effort in to earn things” was all it was, then those people would be satisfied with all the other things they “earn” from Normal over LFR.

You’re already receiving more of a reward than the LFR-er. You’re just arguing that the difference shouldn’t be lessened, even if only by a little and in this one instance. You have every right to feel that way, but you do need to be honest with yourself about why you do.

And, importantly, those who feel differently from you have every right to do so and to encourage the game to more closely reflect their desired experience. And even if yours is the philosophy the game has always been designed around (and that in itself is rather debatable), it’s still an MMO. The experience can, should, and does change over time.

Now you have me curious, let’s see here.

This was achieved by 21% of profiles on WoWhead.

19%

19%

So, WoWhead suggests 19% of folks are completing heroic and above.

What about normal/lfr?

I believe this achievement includes LFR.

What about PVP?

20% of profiles for PVP.

15% for PVP

Now I understand there may be some overlap between raiders and PVPers. What about M+?

This is the lowest M+ achievement I believe? I have this one!

30% of all profiles!

Now this one is fun.

54% of profiles have completed 250 pet battles. I don’t have this one.

So, more profiles have done pet battles, than just raiding.

There are a bunch of activities in this game. And sure there is some overlap, but I think it’s just insane to think that the game is largely comprised of raiders/pvp and M+.

Pet battles have also been out longer than SL. I would specifically look up a pet battle achievement for SL.

Ahh true!

And I understand some of those are more accessible than just endgame. But 250 pet battles lol. That’s alot!

are those “profiles” people currently subbed? or are they everyone who has purchased shadowlands? that is a huge distinction

it’s like looking at sekiro’s steam achievements and seeing the last boss has only been beaten by 9% of players and saying “see? most sekiro players only like running around in circles in the starting area of sekiro”

Not really. If you capture pet and do the “campaign” and achievements you’ll get ther fast. It’s not just pvp pet battle.

And pet battle was released like a decade ago…

You’re attempting to cherry pick and twist things to suit what you want people to believe.

Again-

I content that the overwhelming majority of the player base engage in a mix of pvp, M+, and raiding as opposed to those that sit around farming trivial content all week and bemoaning their lack of progress on the forums.

So put another way-you’re intellectually dishonest and you think you’re clever.

The truth of it is that more people are engaging in multiple forms of content in this game and enjoying it as they have for 18 years than there are those who refuse to engage in anything other than old, trivial; and catch up content.

Also to add to this. Armory achievement is broken. Has been for a looooooooooooooong time. So anything wowhead picks up is false information anyway.

Mine is anyway.

Well, I don’t foresee them changing this. It was poorly communicated on their part and I wish they made a post about it, even if they don’t change anything.

I’ll attempt it on my fresh priest I leveled up in the event when I gear her up and if I can’t do that, I’ll just buy it. It’s only 300k per raid right now.

I hope if I purchase a boost with gold others don’t feel their achievement belittled.

Your post is so much fun, seeing the percentages and that pet battle one owns

Dude, we absolutely don’t care about you. Get mythic boosted for all I care. You’re posting on an alt anyway.

Feel free to obtain whatever it is you think will bring you satisfaction by any method that doesn’t cause harm to others. You spending your own money definitely qualifies as acceptable and harmless.

If I ‘feel belittled’ then I have more serious personal issues I should work on.

No point. People will still pretend to be outraged over something regardless of anything they say. If you want the mount, do the raids and get it.

I knocked out 10/10 normal fated Nathria on a modestly geared fury warrior Tuesday night in a pug.

It’s not unobtainable. It’s not even close to being unobtainable and you aren’t owed a statement/apology/mount/anything.

But you do care…

If you didn’t care how folks obtained slime cat, you’d have no issue with it being in LFR…

I’m confused by your logic here.

Its also not an accurate comparison, since ive had that achievement since 2019 – prior to Shadowlands reveal. The best way to do is to compare to a SL pet battles achievement.

I don’t care that you think boosting is gonna belittle anyone, least of all me. I’m gonna get the mount without spending a dime and I’ll know I’ll deserve it.

It’s less that people care about a mount coming from LFR (it shouldn’t) as it is people are tired of reading threads by players who don’t really like MMOs demanding rewards they aren’t playing the content for.

Ok, so I see you’re playing Classic. I’m on the hunt for T3 right now for my newly leveled priest.

Do you think it matters that I’ll be buying those cosmetic items on the BMAH as opposed to earning them in 2006 when Naxx released? I don’t. Those folks who earned it in Naxx should feel proud of their accomplishment and take pride in their memories.

Slime cat should be a personal achievement regardless of raiding difficulty.

i feel like most of the 5 people complaining could have started their own normal group and cleared it by now, in the same amount of time they’ve spent here complaining about it

Apply for a job at Blizzard become a game dev then I guess you can make the decisions?

Blizzard disagrees with you fundamentally as evidenced by their handling of it.
