I was leveling a toon for a few hours and went to swap back to my main. I tried to log onto the toon and it said “character not found”. I logged off and when I came back it showed I had zero toons across all servers. I can still click on the server but it shows no toons. When I select my regular server, Stormrage, it just goes black

This just happen to me as well. I was actually just about to change my faction and server and all my toons just went away

I have a similar problem. I was on yesterday testing out character customization and abilities. Got home today and all my toons are missing.

Yesterday I just had the “character not found” bug but today is a whole new level lol

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling 2020?

Same deal.
The characters aren’t gone per se, it’s more that the list isn’t loading. If they were simply gone, the “Create Character” button would at least be there.

I do take comfort in knowing they aren’t gone forever, still an unfortunate thing happening to so many people. I see there is a maintenance scheduled again tomorrow so hopefully it resolves then.

Same thing has happened to me. I was even playing today then tried to port to SW and had to relog, which stated my “Character could not be found”. Finally, shut off the client and rebooted getting the empty realms list and an empty server with no characters… simply a black screen. First day to resub and its going great…
Hope this gets fixed soon.

I had the “Character not found” problem yesterday. This is not the same.

When I try to log in, it seems the game hangsup at “retrieving realmlist” then ends up showing all the realms, new realms included. but no characters on any of my realms…

Same here, logged off a character I was leveling, went to change realms to play on my main and was struck of ‘retrieving realm list’ for a full minute or two, and then was shown an empty realm list with no characters anywhere.

Sucks to work all day. Come home to play some wow and no characters are found and can’t create new characters.

Yes we are back to this again. It seems like this pre-launch update was not tested enough. I should go to bed but I am hoping it will be cleared up soon.

Same here lost all my toon’s D=
The characters are not lost, but the server list will not order itself by how many you have or show the number of characters you have. If you manually find your server and log in to it, you will see your characters are there. Buuuut, you’ll probably get the “character not found” message as these two items seem to be related to one another and when one happens, the second issue isn’t far behind.
I was ask by a friend to come back and play with him so I bought the expension and game time for 6 month and I notice something strange today when I wanted to log on my horde Character server ( Madoran ) Can’t find the server on my list can’t find any of my character anywhere. character that I’ve been playing with since 2007. I’m in a sad like bad right now… what happend… when I check the realm list theres still a madoran and its up…
