I don’t have an issue with premades in epics. Play with your friends, that’s part of the game.
What I’d like to see go away is the all drop call. If the queue doesn’t go your way, take the backfills like everyone else. Sitting in Silvermoon for an hour while pugs get thrown into half filled matches just makes the experience worse for everyone.
Queue with a few close friends instead. Most of the time everyone syncs up eventually anyway. I think that would be healthier for epic battlegrounds overall.
Edit: Also, one thing I’ve never really understood is the shift to 4-man groups. I haven’t seen any credible evidence that they’re better than 5-man groups. If Blizzard made backend changes to discourage stacking, the communities seemed to find workarounds almost immediately anyway. I’d rather see groups go back to five players, accept whatever queue pops, and play it out.
Yeah, I go through phases where I do exactly what you said in the first sentence. The second sentence is repeated by you as frequently as the girth references lol.
Again I am asking Blizzard for a rated AV with a public leaderboard of every win and every loss that automatically teleports premaders in when enough of them are on and forces them to fight one another–like gladiators in the arena. With a spectator mode so we can all watch. Or if I get sucked in, you can all watch me die horribly over and over and eat the popcorn.
Maybe, if Blizzard is merciful, they could make it one of those weekend BG things so everyone can have a reprieve and yet know and dread that it is always on the horizon. Waiting.
If you all want to fight gladiator style, it should be a death match. The guild that loses has to disband, and its members must bow whenever they run into members of the winning guild.
You are being too merciful! We need a new emote that is even deeper than a bow. And maybe as a treat the lowest-ranking team could have a bug that has it constantly proc even to like, the kobolds in Elwynn forest.
There will be no CC DR on the bow emote too.
edit: I must go to bed. But seriously though I do hope that the premades stop doing the thing that is causing the games to be weird and lopsided. Having the upper hand in every fight should require some courtesy. Or a word like courtesy. idk I am tired.
If blizz’s matchmaking was good and they loaded in groups evenly on both sides, equal number of healers, and the game didn’t start until both sides were full we wouldn’t be that worried about any of this queue sync stuff.
IMO the issues are often that: one side has more groups than the other (usually 2 or more groups than the other can make a big difference) and/or the number of healers is significantly uneven.
Also, because the game and players are the way they are, alliance easily have more groups than horde does, except possibly during eastern US prime time. It is dumb when only one side has premades running (usually alliance) and they do just farm whatever solo randoms are queuing on the other side. If it were the other way around and horde do that it would also be dumb.
I do agree that queue dodgers, AFKers, and people who only want to premade exclusively in 4+ groups are the worst.
That said, since Auggy’s name got mentioned, I just wanted to say something that isn’t really related to the topic. She’s actually been really good to me personally. Back when I was a little bish myself lol, (it happens ) she always treated me with respect. (even when I didn’t deserve it) She’s never been a community lead or anything, but every interaction I’ve had with her has been positive.
From what I’ve seen, she also doesn’t rage out, she doesn’t AFK out, and she even solo queues sometimes. She doesn’t premade 24/7 like a lot of people seem to think. I’ve seen her backfill by herself plenty of times lol.
I know that’s not really relevant to the discussion, but I just wanted to take the opportunity to share my own experience with her since her name came up.
