Hey, is there anyway to verify which specialization my alchemist is? I really can’t remember. It’s been a while since I played the character.
Look in the general tab of your spellbook.
If you press P under the general tab there should be an icon other than alchemy that says which one you chose
I don’t see anything.
You may not have done any of the mastery quests. Try to see if you can pick up one of the quests
I believe in netherstorm is the transmutation one. It is the easiest if you have some gold, just need to buy a couple items, but after it you can switch to ano of the other mastery ones without having to do the quest lines
Almost positive I did them, but yeah guess I’ll have to check it out.
oh really? so i don’t have to run the dungeon for flask/potion mastery?
Not anymore!
What specialization would you recommend for gold making?
If your server has a lot of raiders, flask or potion, but probably flask. Potion isn’t as valuable bc of the free mana/health pots in the northrend adventuring supplies but Potion of Speed and Wild Magic do sell well. Flasks will always sell well for anyone clearing content. Personally my alch is xmute bc I was living off titansteel but there’s no use for it now, at least not until phase 3 when epic gems drop. If you have a lot of ‘more money than patience’ types on your server it might be worth it to go xmute so you can be first to make/sell the gems. That’s what I’m doing lol
gathering since the new professions crap sucks. alchemy is horrible
edit: o wait my bad I thought I was in retail forum.
alchemy still bad here tho bc they ruined it early with the bags from dungeon and gathering is always a good money maker
I think potions IMO. I did transmute early TBC but I never got any procs.
Alchemist here, but blanking out a little
- Transmutation
- Potions/Elixirs
- Flasks
IIRC, potion one requires black morass. Flask one just bunch of pots. Transmutation requires x4 primal mights.
The EASIEST way to get what you want, is to do Transmuation w/ x4 Primal Mights from AH and then go to another trainer and swap spec for 150G.
I’m flask spec myself. Don’t do it. Not worth it imho. Pot one is better. Farm adder’s + pigmy oil and make haste pots. That’s pretty much the only viable source of income for Alchemists.
How does alchemy compare with other professions for personal benefit? I’ve gone back to my previous server playing my old characters, and I have a hunter with alchemy almost to northrend range. The idea of dropping professions for something new isn’t that appealing to me.
Poorly ): The only benefit iirc is increased flask duration and increased potion effect if you’re wearing the trinket. And that dinky self heal I guess lmao. The big mana pots were nice for healing early in the xpac but my druid has infinite mana now so it’s basically just 2 hour flasks. Personally I think alchemy belongs on an alt, especially considering how beneficial basically every other crafting profession is in wrath
