Hey, Wyrmrest. Been lurking and chiming in for a while on these forums. Now it’s time to add our part. Recruitment for the Vanguard of the Rose is OPEN.

We began as a small World of Warcraft roleplay guild on October 3, 2007.
As years went on, we branched into other games and started tabletop campaigns together. We grew from one guild in WoW to another in GW2, and founded The Vanguard Roleplay Network, or VRPN (“Verpin’,” as some guildies put it). World of Warcraft is our mainstay.
We’re also a diverse community from all walks of life, banded together by our love of storytelling and video games. After a long day of work, stress, and other real-world commitments, the Vanguard is a place for chilled adult gamers to play with like-minded folks, have fun, and make memories.
The Templars of the Rose, renamed Vanguard of the Rose years later, was founded to broker cooperation between the Alliance and Horde. Similar to its velvet yet thorned namesake, the Rose specializes in both diplomatic and martial means to achieve its goals — the latter, only as necessary.
However, from the Rose’s inception, the on-and-off-again Alliance-Horde conflict made the its peacekeeping mission fraught. All this culminated with Theramore’s destruction — a port that up till then, was incidentally called home.
Following Theramore’s destruction, the Rose dedicated itself to removing genocidal warchiefs of the Horde, beginning with Garrosh Hellscream, pausing at the peaceful albeit short tenure of Vol’jin Darkspear, and ending with Sylvanas Windrunner.
Separate from the faction conflict, the Rose battled other threats. From the Red Witch, Sha’s nightmares after losing Theramore, betrayal within from the most unlikely places, and allying with rogue Covenants in the afterlife, the Vanguard has rose and prevailed.
Established Community, Experienced Leadership
Our community is an established one, with experienced Guild Master, Officer, and Dungeon Master leadership dating back 16 years.
A Creative Writing Network (VRPN)
Also unique to us is we maintain a network site with full creative writing support. Guildies who love writing can publish their roleplay stories as well as original works for the fellow writers and readers.

We’re also an inclusive community that does not tolerate any forms of bigotry, including but not limited to: homophobia, transphobia, sexism, racism, anti-Semitism, etc. Gaming is for everyone, and we don’t subscribe to gaming’s antiquated culture of discrimination, exclusion, and gatekeeping.
Our World of Warcraft crew took its first break in Shadowlands, after news of the Blizz-Activision lawsuit. As Blizzard-Activision and Dragonflight have slowly regained trust in players, we’ve returned with parts of our old WoW crew, and are seeking new fellows to join.
Game-wise, our focuses are roleplay, storytelling, and light PvE, specifically small-group content (M+ 15s and Normal Raids) for story completion.
